Black Sheep Share Backstory Of "The Choice Is Yours" For Its 25th Birthday

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Black Sheep‘s magnum opus, “The Choice Is Yours,” Complex has shared a documentary detailing how the 1991 Hip Hop classic came together.

Featuring interviews with Black Sheep‘s producer/DJ Mista Lawnge and MC Dres, as well as DJ Red Alert, the group’s A&R man Dave Gossett, Pos of De La Soul, and Black Sheep’s protégé Chi-Ali, the 15-minute video dives into what made the track one of Hip Hop’s most beloved anthems, the group’s origins and eventual break-up, and Chi-Ali getting caught up in a murder charge.
