After a lengthy hiatus, Staten Island, New York rapper YF returns with fresh visuals for “Scales.” YF released the audio version of the track at the end of the summer and since then, it has hit over 80,000 plays.
“I took a two year break from releasing music in order to create a sound and to put together a project that could not only break me as an artist, but to put on for Staten Island,” YF tells DX. “‘Scales’ was the first release since I’ve developed this new sound and the response has been tremendous.”
“Scales” centers around YF’s daily balancing act between progressing toward his dreams while “trappin'” in order to provide for his family. With production from Ty Goods, it’s a hint at what’s to come from this young, aspiring rapper.
