At this point, Kool Keith is just expected to be weird. Normally full of crass rhymes and outrageous stage antics, the rap legend (Ultramagnetic MCs, Analog Brothers, Masters of Illusion) is still holding his own at almost 50-years-old.
In his new track, “World Wide Lamper,” Keith spits over a sparse beat, while verses from a weathered Dirt Nasty (who people might know as actor Simon Rex from the Scary Movie film franchise) and B.a.R.S. Murre pepper the Mello Music Group offering.
In anticipation of Keith’s new album, Feature Magnetic, Mello Music has shared the video for “World Wide Lamper,” which was directed by Nicholaus Goossen (Grandma’s Boy, The Shortcut). Keith’s new album will be streaming at 9 p.m. PST tonight. Feature Magnetic drops everywhere tomorrow (September 16).
