Born in D.C. and raised in Maryland, The Zim is an unorthodox rapper ready to invade the music scene with his distinct style and brand. Spending his childhood in his father’s arcade stores, Zim grew up listening to a lot of soul music. At the same time, his mother introduced him to early conscious Hip Hop, including Al B. Sure! and Arrested Development.

As a child, Zim took inspiration from the underground New York scene, listening to coveted groups like Gang Starr. As he grew within the world of Hip Hop, Zim was always attracted to the plight of the underdog, finding special affinity in the groups who weren’t as popular in the community. When everyone in his high school was listening to Biggie, Zim was a fan of Scarface and Rap-A-Lot Records.
