There are a plethora of visuals that are evocative of the ongoing unrest in Baltimore over Freddie Gray. A lot of these visuals display the hurt, pain and agony that protesters and Blacks across America feel about having to deal with social injustices. The videos we picked are definitely inspiring.
Freddie Gray, a 25-year old black man who was killed while in the custody of the Baltimore Police Department, has caused an uproar across America and especially in the city of Baltimore where there has been days of protesters throwing bricks and setting fires. What’s happening in Baltimore has brought on comparisons of the ‘93 LA riots and coincidentally yesterday marked the 23-year anniversary of when the police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. The case of Rodney King certainly parallels that of Freddie Gray’s and the many other unarmed-black-men-lives who have been lost at the hands of power-hungry and aggressive police officers in many ways. Both were caught on tape and the excessive force continues, unquestioned by the justice system itself in 2015.
