HipHopDX Premiere: Ahead of his new album Do Not Revenge, producer Dan Black has released a snippet of the project in the form of “Farewell” featuring vocals from singer Kelis, an emotionally-charged song written while on a trip to Spain that touches on the topic of transformation.

“I wrote this with Kelis in a villa on the south coast of Spain,” Black tells HipHopDX. “She wrote and sang her final parts in about 20 minutes, while her son ran around in the garden. It was pretty incredible. It then took me about two months to get my parts anywhere near as good. Looking back, I think we were both coincidentally moving into major new chapters in our lives, and this song magically captures that moment.”
