After securing a deal with Mass Appeal/Def Jam Records, the Harlem MC has been churning out material faster than Mariah Carey stopped singing on the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Evestage. Over a sample from D’Angelo’s “Lady,” East reflects on the past 365 days, the aptly titled “What A Year.” East is also making a cameo appearance on a forthcoming episode of BET’s Being Mary Jane, which airs January 10.
