Chase Allen‘s new album, Far From Home, begins with leaving his hometown of Philly and embarking on an adventure of a lifetime as he starts his journey towards the palm tree-studded landscape of Los Angeles. During the course of the 15-track debut album, Allen puts his storytelling abilities on display and proves he has an ear for interesting, multi-layered production.

Inspired by Malcolm X’s highly influential autobiography, the deeply personal project chronicles Allen’s transformative trip across the country to his new home on the West Coast, while detailing the tumultuous life events that fostered his significant personal growth throughout his journey.

“This is one of the biggest moments of my life right here,” Allen said in a press release. “I’m excited to share this body of work with the world. As an artist, there’s no better feeling than expressing yourself through your craft. Far From Home embodies everything about the mentality of the black community. Collectively it is the GPS for the lost soul. Until we all move on one accord, we will continue to be far from home.”
