HipHopDX Premiere: Journalist 103, the voice behind The Left’s critically acclaimed 2010 opus Gas Mask, is back with his sophomore effort, Battle For The Hearts and Minds, which dropped today (October 28) via Babygrande Records.

The Detroit rapper’s path to prominence dates back to his early work with the Proof of D12, most notably his contribution to “Broken. Over the years, he’s worked with legends and acclaimed lyricists such as Kool G Rap, Freeway and Fashawn.

Featuring guest appearances from an all-star ensemble of Motor City lyricists like Clear Soul Forces, One Be Lo (Binary Star), Guilty Simpson, Willie The Kid, Marv Won, and Nolan the Ninja, Battle For The Hearts and Minds begins with the assertive “Ain’t Going Back” and culminates with “Evil Eye.” He never waivers throughout the 15-track effort and makes it clear he’s an impenetrable lyrical force all his own.
