Albuquerque, New Mexico artist Atom Ortiz was privy to an impromptu session with elusive, psychedelic producer PRVZE (pronounced Praise) for “Coals To A Diamond.” Despite having only recently being introduced to each other through a mutual friend and never having worked together, the chemistry was instant. In Oritz’s words, the underlying message of the verse was to “respond well under pressure, don’t let people manipulate the decisions you make, follow your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you how to do you.”

“Coals To A Diamond” was recorded and mixed in less than two hours.
