Los Angeles-born producer/rapper Flying Lotus is truly one of the more intriguing artists to emerge in the last few years. After working with artists like Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, MF Doom, and Thundercat, he seemed to retreat into his own world for awhile, but he’s apparently ready to emerge.
Under his Captain Murphy moniker, FlyLo has teamed up with Adult Swim for “Crowned,” a wicked-sounding composition littered with dark, experimental moments and purposely strange observations: “This the kind of night that feel perfect for some mischief/The spliff I lit reveals my worst intentions,” he repeats in a menacing tone as he bursts into uncontrollable laughter.
“Sometimes you just want to drive your car off a cliff. For fun,” Flying Lotus tells DX. “I’m currently in hell and under pressure, which is pretty much where I prefer to live.”

FlyLo has been holed up in whatever creative space he prefers to work in and indulging in his passion for film and music. In January 2016, he unveiled a bizarre short film, FUCKKKYOUUU, which he scored.
