Lyrics take shotgun on the latest track from Canadian artists BBRC, “New York In Detroit,” which features additional vocals from Marv Won, production courtesy of Slum Village producer Young RJ, and cuts from DJ Dopey. With a hefty Biggie sample along for the ride, Marv, Bronze and Roshin of BBRC (the new iteration of Notes To Self) effortlessly swap narrative verses.

Roshin explains to DX, “BBRC is from Toronto. When we got the beat from Young RJ, (a Detroit native) it was a clear homage to New York production. We decided to carry on that theme further, myself and Detroit rapper Marv Won flip classic New York lines in our verses. My fellow groupmate Bronze flips classic Detroit lines. The song is an homage to some of our favorite New York rap alongside our Detroit buddies and how the art form can influence people from all over.”
