Tayla Malcolm, who goes by her first name, is an R&B singer from Birmingham, England. Tayla is all set to make a strong impression with her debut single “Call Me Danger.” Made with Mr. Watt, a London producer and songwriter, it’s a mid-tempo strut that nods to 90s era electro-pop along with a Caribbean club bounce.
“I’m like the fire that will never burn away,” is the song’s first line, which Tayla sings in a voice like a brass alarm bell. She brings as much bravado to the song’s chorus, though there’s room for a tiny bit of doubt in the bridge: “Maybe I’m what you want, what you want, what you want.” Maybe.
