Zyah Belle was born into a musically ­inclined family by default. Growing up in the small city of Vallejo, CA, she was bred on prominent greats such as Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and of course the city’s legendary E-40. Zyah Belle spent countless hours in her room singing to these artists’ albums. Zyah began creating her own music after dropping out of the music program at Sacramento State University. After meeting Juneonnabeat in late 2012, they decided to take on the challenge of mixing Juneonnabeat’s heavy bass hits with Zyah’s soulful melodies to create something that resonates with their listeners. Here they are with their first single together “Normally,” produced by Juneonnabeat, written by Zyah Belle and Emmesha “Meesh” Dinkins.
