HipHopDX Exclusive Premiere: King Pharaoh Jackson is one of today’s hottest rising artists, having recently returned from a world tour with The Game. Industry executives, as well as top artists he has worked with, have dubbed King Pharaoh “The King of Melody” given his soulful, full-range heavenly voice that brings listeners deeply into his songs full of emotions from life experiences that resonate universally.

“Now Is The Time” is King Pharaoh Jackson’s new anthem. The anthem is King Pharaoh’s urgent plea for everyone to work together towards peace in light of the civil unrest and various shootings happening around the country involving African Americans and law enforcement. The anthem comes on the heels of his previous release, “Don’t Shoot” in which he is featured with The Game, P. Diddy, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and other top Hip Hop and R&B artists who collaborated on the track. “Don’t Shoot” was originally released as a tribute to Michael Brown and other innocent victims of violence at the hands of law enforcement.

“Now is the Time” seamlessly infuses a mix of reggae, rock, Hip Hop, R&B, and gospel, proclaiming, “these are the times that try men’s souls, now is the time to make a move.” The anthem takes listeners on an emotional journey through King Pharaoh’s personal experience with racial profiling and mistaken identity, in which he was wrongly incarcerated and left in LA County Jail for 40+ days while the LAPD tried to locate him in the system because they claimed it was overcrowded and could not locate him. The anthem invites everyone to rise up, “America look in the mirror” and to “put the plan in motion and let’s go,” as we can no longer idly stand by to the injustice that’s happening.
