Brooklyn-based, DMV-bred rapper G Two returns with the song “Murda Mami.” The track is the second single from his long-awaited follow-up Neo-Noir, a project influenced by the film genre made famous by filmmakers like Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, and by G’s stance on the progression of black culture.
“The translation of Neo-Noir means ‘New Black.’ The color black is just…obviously symbolic culturally, and is also one of the colors I’d use to describe my music,” G states.
“Murda Mami” follows the loosie “Jackie Brown,” which featured St. Louis rapper J.R., whose collaboration with Trey Songz on the track “Best Friend” has garnered over 13 millions plays on Soundcloud.
