The CDQ version of MC Hammer’s “Too Tight” was unearthed recently. In the vintage Death Row offering, which was written by Tupac Shakur and recorded in Dr. Dre’s Record One studios, the Bay Area pioneer kicks lyrics like “A bunch of immature squares using bad grammar / I hit the city and hear them scream ‘You the man, Hammer!’ / Holler if you understand me.’ Hammer’s ‘Pac-assisted album was never released by Death Row, which kept “Too Tight” from gaining mainstream traction. Video of ‘Pac creating the reference track hit YouTube in 2008. Check it out below and revel in an uncanny piece of Hip Hop history.
