Brian Fresco of SaveMoney is making music for the ladies with his upcoming album Casanova. The first single “Lonely” with BJ the Chicago Kid and Bjrknc features an SWV sample and is a testament to Fresco’s versatility.

Lonely sounds like a basement juke party,” says Fresco. “It’s kind of a love song and shows that I can’t be boxed in as a drill artist.”

As a contrast to the street-centered music that has previously gotten attention in Chicago, Fresco’s “Lonely” is R&B to its core. It’s refreshing, plus the vocals from BJ the Chicago Kid and Bjrknc are a beautiful addition. Fresco’s musical influences vary from rap his father exposed him to as a child like Eminem and Scarface to his own friends Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa of SaveMoney. Fresco grew up in the projects of Chicago but was a smart kid and was accepted to a magnet school. It was there that he met Kami, another SaveMoney member, who introduced him to Chance and Vic. “Street life isn’t pretty,” says Fresco, “any smart nigga will jump at the opportunity to do better. I have a son, I have to make sure he’s fed.”
