Danny Brown always owns the tracks he appears on, he's one of few artists that stay true to their own style and does it the way he wants to without selling out and compromising his artistic integrity. This means his climb towards financial gains going to be slower but he's going to have a really solid fan base that don't flake off and follow trends like alot of other rappers fans do. Tracks not bad
People need to learn that there is a huge difference between exploring altered human perception and awareness, and hopefully translating that back to positivity in your life (i.e. on acid, shrooms, mescaline, DMT, and even weed to some extent, none of which are physically addictive or can kill you)
compare that with drugs that will actually fuck you up, destroy your body and probably wreck your life (e.g. crack, heroin, meth or excessive alcohol)
Flatbush Zombies of course love rapping about psychedelics but they rarely promote excessive use of depressants, opiates or stimulants. It's because there IS a clear difference here. I mean sure I heard them mention pcp in a track but it's pretty rare.
The point being if someone described Flatbush Zombies by saying something like "they make music about taking drugs", they really are in a way cheapening the message of the group. It's not all just about getting "fucked up" for the sake of getting fucked up. In between the wackiness of their songs they also talk about abstract states of mind, thinking different, realising the potential the lies in every single one of us etc.
