Thinking that Hip Hop is what you want it to be is like saying Hip Hop is an all-encompassing art form for those who would like to be molded by it however that may be and sadly, there shouldn't, there should be more and higher standards that are explicitly stated. Look at yourself as a demographic of what albums you buy and what style you support before you say that Hip Hop is what you want it to be. You are most likely a byproduct of the direction where hip hop is heading, and what you buy usually gives leeway to the rest. You buy a CD a fitted hat, tight jeans, and you have the next dude feeling comfortable enough to follow the trend. Hip Hop is not what you want it to be, it's packaged and sold to cater to your tastes and misguide you through your apprehensions. A lot of what you have now in Hip Hop should not pass as Hip Hop.
