Yup your a moron
Cole respects the legends. Pays tribute to ODB, Lauryn Hill on his EP. He knows they paved the way for him.
I wish Cole saved this for album! #BornSinner!!!!!!!!
hhdx is for fake hiphop heads
go to beatbasement.com
rest in peace wu
welcome to real
Um...I listened to this shit all the way through and it has zero to do with ODB.
Decent song. Just the same whiny rhyme style that new rappers use, with lyrics about money, getting head and being "hood rich".
What a fucking clown, show some damn respect to the Gods.
First you dick-ride Canibus to the top, then ignore him. Now you're using a late-great rapper's name for what?
He said the words "Tears for ODB" in the beginning, but that was it. Good try J-Clone
In a game full of liars it turns out that I'm the truth!
Dang...I gotta big willy
he went in
This EP nice but Cole played out. Sound like he keep layin' the same track that's a bit different from the last. IMO no where near Kendrick Lamar. J Cole, switch ya style up nigga, stop talkin about how hurt ya bitch is all the time IT MUST BE THE EMOTIONAL ASS WHITE BOY IN YOU lmao
This coming from someone called 'Greg'....get the fuck outta here
Love the track overall but this production tho... Insane
it's a new era so stop comparing Cole, Kendrick, etc...to legends like Rakim, Pac, Nas, Hov....
Wait till Cole and Kendrick are 5 albums deep and we'll see where they stack up....they both on their way to being legends if they keep it up
yes yes carry on
I agree with @2Real, the music industry has changed the game today. A rapper cannot say anything he wants especially if you have a contract with a major label. There are clear lines you can't touch. Maybe that's why people be saying that underground artist are way better nowadays than those in a major label. But I bet most underground rappers wouldn't be as good as they are if they were in a major. The balance is very difficult.
Its a different time. Internet wasn't around like it was back in those days with Rakim, Pac, Biggie, etc. We have to look at the internet and understand how its changed Hip Hop. Its influenced and changed everything else, so we must understand Hip Hop in a different sense.
Mixtapes and Singles are whats hot. The full length Album is dead. Long gone. People do not buy music anymore. You can make a hot single and just release that and make a million off it. There is no incentive to make a full length album unless you as an artist set out to do so. I think this what we saw with Kendricks G.K.M.C.. Albums like that you can just tell he made it for himself and his people, but it resonates with sooo many people. He didn't make it to get rich.
Its a new age. Internet is changing Hip Hop. I just hope guys like J. Cole, Kendrick, and others can continue to do their thing and take hip hop back to the flow, lyrics, and content.
@ dsjs, Well lets be honest, back then a lot of material wasn't already thought of or touched on, originality is hard today esp in an era where almost everything has been thought of and where there isn't much to speak on. people complain about the music today & how the artist don't speak on much, to be honest there's nothing to talk about and the so called "hot topics" they do speak on put them in an bad position with labelsm& marketability just ask Lupe.
BIG had 2 albums.
Wutang had 3 group albums in 7 years
Big Pun has 3 albums
Big L, 2 by the time he died
This isn't sports where rookies have a year or two to learn the professional level game. In music, legends come in and prove their legends right away. Based off your comment, I would say you agree with me that they haven't done that like the legends we know.
Its no that I think these guys are bad, because I don't, but I just see lyricists like Big L, Pun, Rakim, etc. on another level.
Not to mention these guys, especially pun, had impeccable flow.
"Even if I studdered I would still sh-sh-shit on you"
They didn't just make rhymes over the beat. They flowed with the beat and actually made the beat better instead of trying to use the beat to make them better as rappers do now a days
True I agree, the do have more to show and prove. But I think they compare those 2 to previous greats because it's so much garbage out there and they have the most substance with a nice flow.
Link to some real music...
starting to sound like J. Cole is stuck making the same song repeatedly.
j cole has his own style, which is nothing comparable to what is being played on the radio. Why not respect a person who brings his own lane to the game instead of following a trend. The whole point of hip hop is staying authentic to your craft, and that's what he is doing.
So true. J. Cole has done this type of song a million times over with that chorus style.
smart song, dude be droppin some jewels right here!
