Last week we heard news about Drake executive producing a posthumous Aaliyah solo album. Looks like that's happening as its first track has already hit the Web.

  • Super Mario

This gets 4 stars just for Drake getting Balotelli in his verse. First sick thing hes done in long.

  • TriniLuv

I love it only for Aaliyah; her voice is so angelic and you can't help but be memorized by it. I just blank out drake's part.

  • C.Rawlstein

The good news is Aaliyah is being remembered in a good way the bad news is Drake is on the track!! Nothing against lil light skin but after the track was looped an drake spit a sentence I was done! But its good to hear our angels voice again.

  • GQ

Its a shame, most of u on here find it so easy to criticize because ur mind is so simple. Until u leave his life u will never understand him. Gd work Drake. Most of ths dudes on here criticizing don't have nothing going for them; u can simply tell by wht they say & how they say it. Ignorant fucks.

the drums sound unprofessional to say the least

This is dope. Aaliyah would approve most def.

  • NONO

That atmospheric sound that Drake made with Noah "40" Shebib is "NOT' going to work with the Aaliyah sound.....Get her with the producers she was great with..NOW!!!

  • Ricky

This is track is mediocre, nothing special.

  • Anonymous

    No Timbaland? No Go!

  • Jermane Hicks

I have listen to this track

  • Timbaland

I'm sorry but I can't back this up. I'm a big fan of both artists but this should've never happened. This sounds cut and pasted with no substance connecting these two. Sorry Drake but you can't make a great record with someone who you have no relations/connections/activities with since they died ages ago. Not to mention, not having people that worked with her (Missy & Timbo) and know her sound at your arsenal really takes away the quality of the project and what the audience expects to hear (Another solid Aaliyah album).

  • simpleTOM

seven themes in every drake song: a chick a chiok a chick i am rich eveyone hating on me everyone jealous of me record sells

I dgaf what anyone says Drakes verse is fire....

  • The Critic

Drake isn't fooling anybody with his grave digging ass, he obviously cares about the money.

  • john johnson

I like the Aaliyah's part in this track, Drake's voice isn't there for the mood of this track. He's whining which is what he usually does, where as she's one of the most prolific singers of the 90s. He could have gotten any other female singer to do a similar version of this, but he wanted to use the fact that Aaliyah is in this track to bolster his ratings, which is a smooth business decision, but for people who have been around and into hip hop and R&B since it came on the scene, that's a really shady, and disrespectful tactic. Aaliyah didn't sing about ppl hating her, and how much money she had. She sang about beautiful things, like sex, and love, and family, and the craziness of life. How does drake's verse in this track have anything to do with any of that?

  • nano

This is the first time I've rated a song on HHDX all year, had to come and give my main man Drake a 1/5. WTF Drake?!

Please dont ever do this shit to her again! Your too raw to be in a song with her...DRAKE you should have took a softer route with this. Im pissed cause i love her music. your too disrespectful to women in your music for her to be apart of this. Keep Her OFF the tracks where your planning on degrading women cause she dont deserve that!

  • HarveybabyyyI

You'd think if Timbo & missy were going to do, something for her they would've done it by now? I like this song though

  • Matt G Muzik

Drake obviously sticks to 40's production style, but he didn't give Aaliyah any justice. He should've just let this be his own track with her vocals added with his subject matter to save himself the scrutiny. I agree she wouldn't have appreciated his content on her work. And as far as handling the executive production on her album, who the hell allowed that to happen???? Who owns her masters? how the hell did they even believe it was ok to let him take on this project? So disrespectful to those of us who did GROW UP to her music. FUckin' hip-hop i swear... Face 'n' Nas said it so well in my new fav track. Two for her beautiful vocals, that shouldve been solo on diff production.

  • brookaveli

Did Wiz mortgage his flow to Drake so he could cop an oz? Boy does Aaliyah sound good, though.

  • mal617

weak shit. R.I.P Aaliyah. wheres timbo at?

This situation is not about hating Drake people. I think Drake is ok and I really do like his "Take Care" album. I felt that album proved him to be a good current rapper as opposed to his overtly hyped first album. With that being said, an Aaliyah posthumus project is not a Toy to where Drake can have the title of Executive Producer on his resume. If he was truly a fan, he would leave that to Missy and Timberland and ask if he and 40 to Contribute! Not to take lead over. Aaliyah Dayum well would not have a rapper say "Nigga" and cuss excessively. I'm not hating on Drake you Drake/MMG/YMCMB dickriders! It's about taste and class and Aaliyah was a classy lady. I'm in my mid 20's which is older than the average viewer on this site so all you young motherfuckers don't really know Aaliyah like those who were raised in the 90s do...she wouldn't pass for this shit! Go head and root for Drake but all the while Drake is losing major credibility from some of his peers and the folks who paved the way. This is disrespectful and the Aaliyah estate should be ashamed! They just see dollar signs releasing unmastered/unfinished material...bastards!

    • Anonymous

Aaliyah was hot in that vampire movie, dude. But man - Who gives a fuck. It's good music and this song is good. Nigga, Nigger, Nigglet, Brown chicken nuggets with my swiglet of hennesy McNuggets - Fuck it. It's words. One of out of more than a few dozen is shit. Tupac said nigger a lot and he wasn't' racist. (lulz intended)

  • ....

Using an Aaliyah song to throw subliminal shots at Chris Brown, slightly tasteless

  • IceCassidy

Release a weak-ass joint and put Aliyah on it so we'd feel guilty about calling it wack and ot buying it... Drake is a Gravedigging ass lame

  • magmatic123

its ok... timbaland and missy and ginuwine should be the ones making this album

  • NV80

Drake is whack end of story. Go back to Degrassi. Shameful to even have this guy on a track with a woman like that.

  • YESSIR

LOL TIMBO BE THE MOST HYPOCRITE NIGGA ON EARTH. WHEN U WAS HOT WITH WHITE BOY JUSTIN..U WOULDVE NEVER USED THAT FAME AND POWER TO DO AN AALIYAH ALBUM..WHERE AND WHY THE FUC WAS THAT ALBUM WHEN U WAS HOT U FAT NIGGA? WHY THE FUC WOULD U COMPLAIN THAT DRAKE INVESTING HIS OWN MONEY INTO THIS SHIT AND SAY U SHOULD BE ON THIS...NIGGA GET THE FUC OUTTA HERE EVEN IF U WOULDVE TRIED TO DO AN AALIYAH ALBUM IT WOULDVE SOUNDED LIKE A MADONNA DAVID GUETTA BEAT WITH A RNB VOICE..THATS WHY U WAITED UNTIL A GENIUS AND A REAL YM SOLDIER LIKE DRAKE HAD THE GUTS TO PUSH THAT PROJECT AND START COMPLAINING LIKE A LIL FAT BITCH. STICK TO TECHNO AND BE LUCKY IF U ON A FEATURE..FAT RICH UNORIGINAL TECHNO TRASH NEVER GONNA BRING SEXY BACK AGAIN LOOKIN ASS NIGGA

  • Kings of Kings

Why everybody referring to this lil boy as "nigga"? I don't get it. He's, completely white, Jewish and is a child star. At best, he's mixed race, but still he gets a pass?!?! This is how black folks are getting bleaches! .That's what he is. The hiphop games biggest so called star is white, jewish and is a child star? What does he rap about? And this fool sings?! How the hell can the real rap community accept this shit? He has no place on Aaliyah's records let alone be in the booth with her voice!

    • Anonymous

@Snake Black folks can't be racist.

    • Anonymous

Wow... what a hater. On a whole new level.

    • Snake

He might not be a very good rapper, or conventional, but the fact that you think his race or ethnicity makes him unacceptable in the hip hop community is really narrow minded not to mention racist. Maybe we should exile Eminem, and Dr. Dre for that matter since he's such a big supporter of a white artist.

    • Duke

The amount of bitterness and hostility you have built up towards that man cannot be healthy...

  • Kings of Kings

Can't believe his is really happening. As a fan of Aaliyahs, this really does suck. The music industry has changed so much, even since she passed. This junvenile fucking Jewish terrier looking idiot has no idea how to handle this project. Just listening to this shit makes me sick. It sounds completely like his bullshit. And why they hell he cursing on a track with Aaliyah. Limitation of vocabulary, or is he compensating for his lack of being " street"? Shame on Hankerson for setting up this project the way he has!just goes to show that it's only about milking off some thing which is precious in a lot of fans hearts. At least those who can remember it. Those of you saying "fuck the haters"???? It's clear yr still in high school and you weren't around when Aaliyah was shinning. Most of her fans ain't down with this at all!! This clown is getting to big of his own shoes.........and u know he's gona be arrogant about this shit!! Black day for the industry! Seriously a black day!

before you hate on this nigga ask yourself can you rap better than him? this verse was hard, the song is hard people just hate to hate I dont even listen to fucking drake I prefer to listen to the tribe & pharacyde but this song is real good

  • A.H

Since I'm not from the generation, I never really listened to Aaliyah. But from what I hear, everyone has the utmost respect for her and what she's done for the music community; so much so that for someone to try to make a new album is almost a dangerous idea. The pressures on. I feel that if Drake doesn't do this right he's going to disappoint/upset/piss off a lot of people and lose fans in the process.

  • Decatur ATL Boi

The music is trash, just too empty, snare sounds like a stock snare with no life and the pads (chords) were predictable. I give the music a 1, Aaliyah a 5 and Drake a 3.

  • Anonymous

Musically, the track sucks. Gotta love Aaliyah on the strength of what she meant to music though.

  • rideonemgixxer

first off, I grew up with Aaliyahs music. Half these people dont know shit about her music. When she died in 01 we lost a talented artist. Accept it or not, but Drake and Aaliyah have a similar sound. Aaliyah wasnt a strong singer, but she had a unique sound that she used to make amazing music, with one producer (timbo) making most of her beats. Drake has done the same. I dont care if drake is hood, not hood,or about dumb shit he says in interviews,(Fiasco sounds dumb as hell in interviews but dude can rap!) ... all I care about is the music, and he makes good music. Go listen to Aaliyahs music, her sound is very laid back, just like what 40 did with this beat. Timbo and Missy shoulda done this a long time ago, but their bad for not. Wish timbo would make the beats he made in the 90s. One in a Million and The Bachelor were two of the best R&B cds of the 90s, IMO.

  • Guest

Heres the thing, the song is good, It does feel more like a drake song, but who cares, this is one song off the album. Not only that Drake was the only one who got off their ass to actually do something like this. i bet a few years from now if drake wouldve never stepped up and did this then we wouldnt be getting an album from her. If Tim and Missy wanted to do this, then they shouldve thought about it before. And in terms of Drake as a rapper, he aint bad, hes not trying to be someone hes not, hes just making music cuz hes good at it.or at least decent. Who really cares if he aint toting guns around, and dealing drugs. Who cares if the fool didnt come from the "hood", no one wants to be in the hood. That explains why the rappers a lot of you ignorant commenters give credit to try rapping to get out of it.

Drake better back the fuck off Aalyahs music for he gets fucked up! This shit is weak, the beat is weak and Drakes verse is weak. Someone needs to snuff this motherfucker for fucking with he music!

    • King of Kingz

Your the one who sounds like u feel the same way I do! I can't stand this shit. I actually can't accept that this fool has seriously been chosen to be involved in this! And that he's making his sound over this, cursing on a track with Aaliayh. To all ou muthafucksz further up saying that Aaliyahs sound is like Drakes, you either got his dick in your ears or ur hello hard of fucking hearing. Oooh and Timbo and Missy missed out?!?!r u serious, somebody really had the nerve to say that? Wish U wud say that shit in Timbos face, see what he says.....or does.....I'd pay fo that!......

I DONT LIKE DRAKE THAT MUCH BUT HIS VERSE WAS ACTUALLY GOOD BUT THE BEAT IS TERRIBLE TOTALLY RUINED THIS SONG YOU GOTTA DO BETTER THEN THAT IF YOUR GONNA PRODUCE AN AALIYAH SONG

  • 777bernie

Alright, I know nobody gives a fuck. But, I'm a give ya'll my opinion on Drake. When I 1st heard this nigga, my sister showed me his 1st mixtape and asked me what I thought. I told her, well the nigga don't make me want to scratch my brain out. He koo. I give it to the boy, the nigga got talent. But overtime I started losing respect for the nigga. His interviews, this nigga was puttin' himself out there like a straight up bitch nigga. Like a straight pussy. I remember cringin' at some of his interviews, like damn nigga STFU. You hurtin' yourself. I remember this one time he said something bout how he feel about UGK, and that he see's a little of himself in them and shit like that. I know Bun gave ol' boy a co-sign. But, I bet deep down that nigga was like, nigga STFU. He just sounded like a straight up bitch to me. And then, all them interviews and quotes about him cryin' about gettin' his feelin' hurt and heart broken and shit. Like damn nigga, why you puttin' yourself out there like that? Keep that shit to yourself. This nigga & me grew up on two different sides of the world. He in Canada, me in Oak Cliff, Dallas, TX. Straight up, if I was puttin' myself out there like this nigga. Not only the niggaz, but the woman in the hood would of been like, pussy ass nigga. I don't know how they do it up, there. But on the kool, this nigga just comes off like a little bitch to me. I would of been a big fan of this nigga, because like I said boy got talent. But, I don't respect him as a man. I know my opinion don't mean shit to him or anyone else. But, I ain't gone listen to a nigga I don't take serious. He talkin' bout catchin' bodies and he keep it G'. I even heard some record label paid Yo Gotti' to let Drake kick it wit' him and his G's. Bein' a nigga like me, growin' up around G's and shit. That's a straight bitch made ass move that deserves no respect. That's my two cents. Drake keep doin' yo thing homie. I give the nigga props though, the boy a player. You gotta give him that. Naw'm talkin' bout.

good apart from the part off liking drakes music in the first place ima tell you how i feel about this gatewayer. when i first heard off drake it was from someone who wasnt a real hip hop head and he ask me have i heard this kid drake i was like na man whos that and he was telling me hes a rapper and i stuck to my tupac and cube shit then i gave his tracks a check and wasnt feeling it period from that point on drake has continued to piss me off along with minaj doing hoe shit making hip hop look like a pussies game and the funny thing is drakes personality aint nothing there is fuck all interesting about his life or his music he just brags about shit hes got and real rap fans aint him and nikki minaj are possibly the worst thing to happen to rap since mc hammer and now this kid is actually leaching off dead artists which is sick hes like a fucking maggot chewing up her corpse. artists like this who are using and abusing dead artists shit deserve to be beating to a pulp

  • 777bernie

What is this world coming to?

  • ...

The reason ppl are saying that Missy & Tim should be involved is because since Aaliyah isn't here to give her own imput the people who knew her musical style the best should have some say in new music that represents her. There was a reason this was left on the cutting room floor when Aaliyah was alive. This doesn't sound like something she would have done. It's a Drake song not an Aaliyah song.

For the record, Timbaland has ALWAYS been a goof and nothing special. Hes a high ego, retarded douche who has too much money and thinks hes the hottest producer out there. At least Drake is trying to do something different folks. If you hate Young Money, you hate Young Money. But Drake has talent, and anybody who denies it is brain dead. If you still believe Timbaland and Missy should be all over this, think about it this way. Drake probably grew up listening to Aaliyah, and shes a legend to him. Hes doing this to pay homage and show respect. Get over yourself haters.

    • Hip Hop Fan

You forgot to mention how he will be making money off a deceased person he never meet of knew. Scum... At least the Biggie/Tupac people knew them, unlike this Drake and Aaliyah song. :|

  • Im starting to like drake

Drake is stepping it up recently. Take care was a good album, especially for a young money record, i was surprised at the lyrical standards. Didn't like his first one. Looks like he is moving on from that 'swagger rap, fuck bitches, get money' style. Everyone is alowed to have fun but thats all those cunts a young money rap about. Drake finally mixing it up and i like it!

  • nsparks923

This beat sounds like 8 of Drake's songs on his last 2 albums. smh.

  • Anonymous

so ummm let soulja boy tattoo 2pac on him and let him be a executive producer posthumous album too

  • Trusted

Its not bad but its really a Drake sounding song. I Love Aaliyah and Drake is ok but I'll pass on Take Care 2

  • Scott Storch

Fuck Timbaland and his hot dog neck hahaha!

  • Anonymous

I swear people just hate on drake no matter what shit is sad. What's the diff when em did the biggie/tupac album song, or the 100 pac songs other artist did. He trying to do the same thing but with AAliyah but of course since its drake its automatic hate lol. As for the track it sounds good it's not OMG DOPE AS HELL but its great to hear Aaliyah again.

    • King of Kings

If you knew anyhing about PAC, you'd know that Afeni Shakur, Tupacs mother approves of every official work brought out under her sons name. She approves of artists, producers everything. Beside, Eminem exec produced the soundtrack album to his documentary, something thst was controlled by Afeni. You know nothing about hiphop or any of this shit, go to another site, ur not welcome!

  • yourmomsballs

Timbaland and Missy wrote and produced all of Aaliyah's music, she was merely just the artist that performed the songs. Why not link up with Timbo and make something that sounds pure to the classic sound but with your new twist to it? This has none of that soul to it... Not bad though.

  • Anonymous

its nice hearing aaliyah again. i was a big fan. gone way too soon. no comment on drake, but he got permission this is no different than people hopping on a biggie or tupac song

  • G5

See this is why Drake shouldn't be doing this album. This song sounds like Drake, not Aaliyah and to be honest it's a weak song for Drake overall anyway so I hope he isn't serious with this one. Shit is wack. Dog let her rest. No need for this at all.

  • bboy

As a song, dis shit isnt worth a 2nd listen. The beat was wack & Drake just threw in a random verse on it. Horrible idea. Only thing that makes up for it is Drake's verse. "Is this even a discussion/Dont u ever wake up disgusted/Every Million I gain an enemy or a cousin". Dats some true shit

  • SUNSET

FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MIND WHEN I HEARD HIS VERSE IT DONT FIT THE SONG OFF THE STRENGTH THAT ALLIYAH IS NO LONGER WITH US THE WORD BITCH SHOULDNT HAVE EVEN CAME TO AUBREYS MIND HE MIGHT BE RUNNING OUT OF MUSIC THATS WHY HE WANTS THIS ALBUM SO BAD NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS OR HOW HE SAYS IT IT DOESNT SOUND BELIEVABLE.

  • Drake

Looks like the Sheffield Wednesday logo

  • Big Homie

Takes a few listens and sounds like a Drake track but very well done! Aaliyah is still killing most of these bitches out here! She sounds reborn on the track!

  • OVO RIDA

Much better than the original. Timbalands wack anyways. 40 has soul in his beats.

    Leave Aaliyah alone

  • Gr3yMar

I seem to be one of the few who realizes that Aaliyah could not sing very good.

    • Anonymous

She was famous because she was pretty and marginally talented. Adele and maybe 2 other females in the last 15 years are the only ones that can sing next to some of the women from before the 80s.

    • Phamous

Aaliyah wasnt the greatest vocalist, but her music, style, lyrics, and just overall image stood out infront of everyone... IMO... Plus, because of her death she's iconic so you have to take that in consideration. Overall I thought she was a great artist and one of Timbaland's best.

  • wishworks

it his type of shit, and it shows on through on the rhyme , but it Don't match her. Nice Attempt but i think you may need Tim & Missy because he perfected her sound, if your going to make a song that charts, and is worthy of being work that can be held up and compared to the work before her death R.I.P

  • YOUAJOKE

FUCK DRAKE HE SHOULDNT BE MAKING THIS TYPE OF ALBUM HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW HER. FINE MAKE A TRACK IN MEMORY OF HER BUT NOT AN ALBUM.

I was definitely sketchy about the whole idea of this project when I first heard about Drake doing this, even when the song dropped I almost didn't want to listen to it. But I'm glad I did, this song is dope. Regardless of what anyone said, this definitely exceeded my expectations.

  • Phamous

This song isnt bad, but I can see why people dislike it. For one, it sounds like a Drake song featuring Aaliyah PERIOD. Secondly, muthafuckaz just tired of Drake since he's being over-saturated which happens to lot of artists. (T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Nate Dogg, Kanye West, etc.) It happens people...

  • mel

niggas stop hatin point ofsong is a conversation this is art fuck who think otherwise

    • King of Kingz

Definition of Art as per the Oxford Dictionary: [mass noun] the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power: Mel.....short for Melanie? This Ain't art. Go to ur local book store or library., if you know that that means, and educate ur self.

  • Hiphophead9

This song is trash, they should bury it

  • Metz

I'm sick of these weak/lazy 808 drum beats with synthesizers. The shit is so corny now. Kanye did it and it was cool, then Drake bit his style and over saturated that shit. It doesn't even fit Aaliyah's style to be doing shit like this. This reminds me of that 2pac album they let Eminem produce and he fucked it up with his wack aftermath style beats and G-unit/label features. If you're going to do a dead artist album, try to make it sound like stuff they would have actually did. Don't use it to promote yourself and your own sound.

  • Mison

I know Drake is hot right now but why does the nigga want so much shine. His verse ruined the chillin vibe of the song, had he just left Aaliyah on there it owuld have vibed perfectly. Not one of her best but a solid track. I wouldn't use it as a single.

  • jg

uuuuuhhhh Drake mentions the scarborough shooting in TO where a baby got shot! I was at that party!

  • freshyboi

    fuck this garbage

  • Amin

Maybe I didn't like the idea of this record... but I personally think Drake did a good job, however, he needs better production. Timbaland perhaps

  • Real

Haters gonna hate.. Lovers gonna love.. I don't want to do, none of thee above.. I wanna pee on youuu.. Drip drip drip pee on youu... 5/5 haters!

  • Abs of stamina

The song is not that bad. I can listen to it more than once. Only two things I dont like. 1. being the language Drakes uses in his verse. To much cursing nigga this nigga that. Hes more creative than that. 2. Those weak ass 808's or whatever there called couldda used a better sound or made that one sound enhamced IDK just dont like it.. ill give this a 3.5

  • Sean

Tune, Drakes verse didn't really suit the song though

  • Anonymous

All I can see here is a bunch of Drake haters and purists, this is called art, experimentation, a fusion of classic R&B and Hip Hop,yall need to give this nigga credit for such a daring move, and the song feels like it comes from the So Far Gone mix tape, its good

  • Anonymous

This is garbage, that's not even her on a big part of the second verse. Production is weak, always the same shit, few 808 toms + synth.. Lazy shit

  • HIP HOP'S ADVOCATE

UMMMMMMM.... IS THERE ANY WAY WE CAN TAKE DRAKE BITCH ASS OFF OF THIS TRACK????

  • Anonymous

Even tho drake is the best female rapper out there, this shit is still horrible!

  • Anonymous

Enough of Drake, let's talk about 40 now... his production is CORNY!!! To say his bullshit songs sound the same would be an understatement! RIP Aaliyah!

  • Anonymous

Damn he murked chris brown in that verse

  • Durbey E Macon

I wonder where or who gave him her vocals?

  • UNDERSTAND

REALLY LIKED THIS SONG UNTIL DRAKE STARTED SPITTING AND IM NOT A DRAKE HATER HIS VERSE WASNT EMOTIONAL ENOUGH FOR THIS TRACK MORE FLOSSING AND COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT NIGGAZ AND CUSSING ON THIS ONE SONG IT SOUNDS LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME REAL PERSONAL THOUGHTS TYPE OF A TRACK IN MY HONEST OPINION WOULD RATHER SEE KENDRIK LAMAR OR AB SOUL ON THIS ONE DIDNT LIKE DRAKES APPROACH AND IM NOT A HUGE FAN OF KENDRICK OR AB BUT THEY ARE GROWING ON ME GIVE IT A 4 WOULD BE A 5 WITHOUT DRAKE ON IT

  • Anonymous

I really think this is another gimmick. Everyone respects Aaliyah but Drake NEVER knew her, never met her, never SAW her. Why should he be the one to do this? Yea and people say well Em did it with Biggie and I felt the same way. 50 cent was all over that too, people need to stop this bullshit.

  • Big C

I like 40, but he needs to learn some new tricks this is pretty lame. Drake's verse was average at best. Even the Aaliayah recording didn't sound all that. The song just isn't good.

  • Anonymous

wow illuminati all over this one... pyramid, one eye & owl...

  • 2-Sentz

Honestly, I think Drake is only catching shit for this 1) Because he's Drake and 2) because its Aaliyah. Putting all bias aside for a minute, this song is actually pretty good. 40 tailored this beat perfectly for Aaliyah's voice, and Drake did his thing on the verse. Not his best by any means, but still a good song regardless. I think what a lot of people are afraid will happen (myself included) is that Aaliyah is gonna get the 2Pac treatment with a bunch of features and unnecessary remixes that didnt belong there. Hopefully Timbo and Missy will have some part in it, but I'mma have some faith in Drake on this Check out the music when you get a chance http://soundcloud.com/dcshaman

  • DrakeBeRimJobbinErrbody

Yeah, and Pusha T was talkin to your lame ass and your bitch clique, you friggin corn ball. Exodus 23:1. And so was Ortiz on his semi-remixed freestyle over that beat. Industry starting to hate your bitch ass bruh.

  • DrakeBeRimJobbinErrrbody

Liyah sounds dope, beats is aiight, Drake sounds out of place and his verse was straight from the wack factory and lame. Crazy forced and to me didn't feel right on the song-like he's trying to rap again on n R&B song. C'mon bruh, either you rap like you did on mixtapes a few years ago before you blew up or you croon n swoon like the poppy Rap n Bitch artist you are now. Rimjobbin errbody wit those funky ass lips and fake swag....I'd like to see how arrogant and cocky you'd be if you were picked up by some other label other than Young Butt Money Pirate Clique Ballbaggers. I used to like Drake a few years ago, and Wayned for that fact. These dudes just lame and rimjobbin hip-hop and effin the game up! 3 stars just for AaLiyah and her verses and voice. -3 for Drake sounding whack as usual on anything he touches as of late.

  • Anonymous

Hope this is the only feature. 40 and Drake will handle her music better than Timbo or anyone else would in my opinion. 40's beats are perfect for her vocals.

  • harris89

putting aaliyah's vocals on a wack 40 beat with more cheeseball drake rhymes. just a couple of turrible human beings ruining a dead r&b artist's work. just turrible.

  • TRUST DRAKE TO FUCK UP A LEGEND

    WACK!!!

  • Up North

It really ain't that bad. I'm not up to speed on the politics of who owns the rights to her music but I bet Drake can put together a pretty decent project. Better than what Timbo could put together at this point.

    • c

You're an idiot! This is not aaliyah's sound..Timbo is a big part of her sound. Timbo has more talent in his pinky than you have as a whole!

  • Anonymous

Why is Drake doing this This just sounds like a typical Drake track featuring Aaliyah Dude needs to chill and let her rest in peace

  • Mario

  • AaliyahFan

i didn't like it.. aaliyah's voice is awesome.. the beat seems ok.. but drake ruins it for me.. this track should not be allowed to be released.. i don't think this album should be either.. As Aaliyah's brother, Rashad Haughton, earlier in March "No official album [is] being released and supported by the Haughton family."

  • ....

It's ok, Drakes just taken his own sound and stuck Aaliyah's vocals, sounds like something off Take Care...

  • Mack

not bad...lets jus keep the features very sparse if any.....remember how did they did all the pac albums?

  • real fan

if theres an online petition to stop this then Im with it

  • Anonymous

I still think Drake is way too infatuated with Aaliyah and should control this. But this track sounds dope. Hopefully, Drake calls Timbaland and Missy over to help, because the two are the people who brought Aaliyah to great heights.

  • hjk

the song is good, I know what Timbo and Missy did, but I hope they won't be involved in project, the project will suck with Timbo's electro-pop beats he is doing last 10 years

  • Anonymous

this shit is ghostly, shits pretty dope and im definitely not a drake fan

I like it. I guess it's just the new thing to hate on drake.

  • Q T B

its alot better than i was expecting.....props drake

  • Grizzle

Underwhelming, what's the point of this if it's just going to be some half-assed down tempo bullshit. Well, at least Drake had enough sense not to make a forced sounding love song with a verse about having sex with Aaliyah. Then again only one track has leaked so far.

  • YESSIR

DRAKE KILLED THIS SHIT AND RIP CHRIS BROWN 150,000 GET YOUR SALES UP LIL HOMIE. YMCMB IS RUNNING THIS RAP SIT

    Drake rapped awesome

  • Chris Newberry

Can't front, his verse was actually pretty dope. I am completely against this project though, I think it will soil Aaliyah's legacy as a whole. They need to leave her be.

  • T

I like Aaliyah and im not just saying this just because I can't stand Drake hoe azz, but dis song is not good. You could disagree wit me if u want, but this isn't anything to wat I know she was capable of doing. Drake verse/production made the song even worst.

  • Jy

Drake went in on this. Chilln music

  • YESSIR

OH WELL ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN! DRIZZY IS ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL..LOL AT TIMBO GETTIN ANGRY FOR THIS..WHAT THA FUC WOULDVE THAT NIGGA DONE? • Str82dapoint

How many times Drake gotta say "yo what's up" during Aaliyah's parts? Just sounds stupid. Her vocals are dope... just how I remember her. Miss that lovely voice. Timbo and Missy need to be involved though.

  • Drake

I know ya'll won't admit it, but Aubrey is more popular than Timbaland and Missy are. I expect them to make an appearance on the album though due to their deep roots with Aaliyah. I, also ,expect J. Cole to be featured on a song since he loved Aaliyah just as much as Drake did.

  • me

Poor song. A tarnish on Aaliyah's memory.

  • Dope

This is sick. Drake killed it. Beat is just dope. Sounds old-school but just like classic shit. U idiots going on about timbiland / missy, need to give it a rest. It's just more Drake hate. No matter how much u hate it he will still be selling more records than ur sub-par favorite rapper / making more $ and banging better broads.. Get over it.

  • Anonymous

what I dont understand is... how the fuck did drake know Aaliyah? whats the connection here? i really dont understand. someone inform me why this drake has been chosen to executive produce this album?

    • ThisGuy585

Yea, I'm pretty pissed about that. Where's Timbaland at? Drake producing this album is gonna make it difficult for my to buy it. smh...

  • lovemuzik

what the fuck is drake thinking about, criously? let timbo deal with aaliyha's wrk!!this guy should not be overseeing this hole project!!its ridiculous. I like and admire drakes work ethic in terms of what he brings to hip hop but aaliyah was an icon in her time and its only fair that her peers within the industry should have to handled her wrk? they knew her from an artistic level and also as a close friend. They collectively would know and understand what to put and what not to put out, cos they knew her ideas and thoughts as a person. I dont agree with people who meddle with past greats like that, its a disgrace real talk.

  • wait...

why everyone overlooing the fact that drizzy just spit something good for once in awhile..... great song. btw

  • Anonymous

smh. all i gotta say -_-

  • Anonymous

i like the song its dope. but he should get missy and timberland definitly to help with the project who better at knowing her sound and production the they do.

  • Anonymous

the drake verse was unnecessary...otherwise quite dope

  • Respect

Out of respect i think that drake should get timbaland nd missy on the album. not saying that drake should be off the album but he should have them on as somthing also.

  • Anonymous

The reason why it sounds like a Drake song because its a 40 produced song. Yes I believe Drake should get Timbaland insight on this but, this track is amazing. If Aaliyah was still alive her and Drake would have a handful of songs together. Their sounds are amazing. Drake is talented and anyone who disses just doesnt wanna accept the fact he is.

    • Anonymous

Or the fact that it seems that somebody who doesn't even know Aaliyah that isn't Tim or Missy, can executive produce one of her albums nobody is talking about drake and his talents. It's the fact that he didn't ask anyone that knew her to do her music.

  • KadafiThaDon

WTF?... It sounds like one of those horrible remixes when some producer takes a song and tries to put their own spin on it and it just doesn't work. You have to let Timbo, Elliot, or even Dash do this shit. They actually knew her, what she felt, her "sound" so to speak. These fools have never even seen A in person. It just doesn't sound right then drake comes on with some off topic irrelevant bs bitching like always confront these niggas in real life and stop bitching in songs. That shit just keeps you from making quality music. J Cole does the same shit , we, the listeners have no clue who you're talking bout. Handle that shit like a man so when it's to make music it's not on your mind.

    • Anonymous

listen to the song again and youll see he actually stuck with the concept. As far as the production I like 40s stuff. Id love to see what he could do with missy and timbs input

  • yolo

lost respect for drizzy some things you just say no to

  • Anonymous

Nothing special about it. Hand the reigns to Tim & Missy and let them do some justice and let Drake find his own female singer to executive produce.

If you dont own a single Aaliyah album or even a song of hers anywhere in your music library, please stfu. Youre upset when you dont even know her legacy.

  • Anonymous

If you want someone to be mad at, be mad at her estate/label. Theyre the ones that had to give Drake and 40 the vocals. use common sense. Drake didnt find these vocals just floating around somewhere. He had to have them given to him by the people that had them. Those should be the people that her fans that didnt like this song should be angry at

  • BLACK

DRAKE MAN, JUST MAKE THIS YOUR OWN SONG AND LET ALIYAH REST IN PEACE...THIS SOUNDS LIKE EVERY OTHER DRAKE SONG.

  • Duke

Her vocals sound fine, they aren't quite as pristine but they're over a decade old over a new instrumental. And aside from his verse Drake probably had very little to do with this musically and same goes for the rest of the album. Executive producers are more "overseers" than anything and I doubt he"ll even do much of that. They just wanted a big name on the album and everyone knows he's a fan. But Drake's the new nigga everybody loves to hate so it won't matter what I say... I do think Timbo and Missy should be included in this project though. Refresh some forgotten talent.

    • Cmon son

Saying the vocals are over a decade old is no excuse to why they do not sound as crisp as they should. Her vocals from songs back then, sound better then the vocals on this track. The production team did not do a great job at all. sounds like they just got vocals, and placed them on the beat how ever they saw fit. Poor job by the production team. Tupacs vocals get placed on new instrumentals all the time and sound cleaner. I just think they could have did better and taken more time...it is Aaliyah after all. i just hope this is not a way to help DRAKE get sales.

  • harveybabyyy

    I' like the song,

    Wack ! opinionguy2011 com

  • Cmon son...

Honestly the production could have been way better. Vocals wise..sounds like exactly what it is. Old vocals over a new beat..Her voice was beautiful as usual..but they could have did better on making the vocals more crisp... 5 stars for Aaliyah tho...as for drake, eh..

  • Nuff said...

yeh, he should let timbo handle this... NUFF SAID...

  • 3 headed monstah

and this is y, timbo, dont want no one else dealing with aaliyah work, excetp for him or missy. trak str8.. but it aint aaliyah.

  • RedX

Not bad, there are some great production elements from Aaliyah's tracks some 11-12 years ago which are also present in this track and they are done well. I hope that these new politics would not tarnish Aaliyah's legacy because since her death, she has left a void which has not been replaced yet. With the way mainstream music has developed since about 2008 with the influx of superficial electro music, we definitely need some soul back into this industry. However, I feel resurrecting Aaliyah should only be a stop-gap measure. We need to find again that talent which was lost and inundated by all that auto-tune electro bullshit of music which Will.I.am, Guetta, Akon and others like Taio Cruz and NeYo cashed on.

Yeah because he's 100% changed his style, it's not like he's just got better at what he was doing before. I mean he never made songs about girls and bragging a lot before.
