    Dickriders KILLED hip-hop!

I still won't expect much til I hear the whole album. It's sounding like a little better Hip Hop Is Dead, which is far from great.

I use to be the biggest Nas fan ever and can be very opinionated about music, especially when it comes to rap aka Hiphop. I've been listening to it since 89 and have seen emcees going through changes in their life and heard rappers come and go. I think this tune is a good expression of things Nas has been through trying to get by in the system as a man. I haven't really been too fond of the other albums that came out after 'I am'. A part from Stillmatic and the 'N' album , but have to give Nas credit for making an excellent come back after slipping after he left the 90's. Now most might not agree with what i said, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Only a true lyricist or true hiphop fan would see the angle i'm coming from being a lyricist myself. Most people that comment on this site are young or newskool, who don't know about hiphop terminology. There are people who think newskool rappers like Young Money, Rick Ross, Gucci Maine and Soldier boy are the best, only because their popular and sell the most records. It doesn't matter if your friend likes them and that's what's in fashion. Hiphop is a movement, rap is for poses. Just like hiphop reps for the cause and rap is for the sake of it. If you like who you like then that's cool, because your entitled to, for whatever reason, but compare great emcees with real lyricists. Just because you sell a million doesn't mean your hiphip. It just means people like the music because it's popular, but it doesn't mean it's good.

what metaphors did he spit, or lines that made you say damn he killed this shit? please someone write out the lyrics that made you get wet off of this track.....

    • 490717

Nas only spit 3 dope lines, yeah, you're right. That's why you clicked on this shit, cuz you knew nas was so lame you could than get on here and tell everyone how lame he is. Nas is the GOAT and your opinion is about as relevant as John McCain.

    • SleekTdot

And did you listen to rewind?

    • SleekTdot

I never said that...and I grew up on 90's hip hop so yes I KNOW there are more artists than Nas...I'm just saying that I have not met a single hip hop head my age (29) who would say that Nas only had 3 dope lines his whole career. My bad for assuming if I am wrong, but to make such a comment you must be a youngin. If you are not...nice to meet you cause you are honestly the first person in my generation I have ever heard of to say that Nas only had 3 dope lines. Yes I know there are nice younger rappers too, but ask any of them who they have respect for as a lyricist not one will disrespect Nas, cause just as Nas pays homage to those before him (e.g Rakim) they would pay homage to Nas amongst other rappers from that era

    • Anonymous

yeah, cause there's only young money and nas. get some fucking logic, you assclown.

    • SleekTdot

You guys have got to be kidding me...wow...3 dope lines? Go listen to Rewind...he tells a story perfectly from the ending to the beginning...now if your a.d.d asses can actually take it in and listen instead of waiting for young money punch lines (not hating)...you can appreciate one of the best rappers ever

    • Anonymous

nas did probably spit around 3 dope lines in his whole career. dude is crazy overrated and he stay biting tragedy and g rap, who perfected this shit waaayy before him.

  • jtrall23

I guess because everyone around me was while i actually dont like him. Just finding out about Nas, Rakim, Mobb Deep, Big Pun & Immortal Technique. Could you people tell me more of these type of rappers? peace

    • divine1-2

Nothing is wrong with me. I tell it like it is similar to when I used to write my editorials. I'm not about to debate with an ignorant ass. I am a straight man that NEVER comments under "Anonymous", seems like your the one in the closet bruh. I guarantee you you can't name another MC that's more lyrical than Nas. I'ma student of the game, what are you? Y'all youngens betta recognize and realize.

    • Anonymous

divine1-2, wtf is wrong with u nigga? What sort of faggot ass dickriding is that? Are u a straight man by any chance? I did not think so. U need to kill urself asap. Nas is OVERRATED AS FUCK

    • oldschool4life

In my opinion Rakim is the best lyricist to ever be on the mic. It would be hard for me to say Nas is even top three but the styles are different.. like comparing tupac and biggie bar for bar biggie was a better lyricist but biggie was more of a... ok what rhymes with this and what rhymes with that... Pac could paint a vivid picture with his lyrics and stay on topic for 5 minutes consistantly rhyming so its hard to say who spits better... I put nas in the pac catagory and Biggie in the Rakim but over all Rakim is the best Emcee to bless a track. Only rapper to never sell out not once

    • divine1-2

Well these are some great Mc's that you've mentioned. I would be happy be enlighten you on their abilities. Just my opinion.. . Nas: The best MC on this planet. His lyrics are so vivid; he's the rap version of Donald Goines. A modest MC, whose story telling are only match by very few. A stellar lyricist who incorporated styles and rap schemes of Slick Rick, Kool G. Rap, and Rakim to become the greatest. Similar to Rakim, "Everything he says coincides with the topic." Rakim: Some people place Rakim as the best to ever touch a mic. His "verses" are detailed with lyrical precision, when most rappers would use a simple metaphor or simile here and there, Rakim uses 16 bars so the listener can capture a clear understanding of the message he delivers in his songs. It will be an everlasting debate whether Nas has officially taken the crown as the best lyricist of ALL TIME. Mobb Deep: With 20+ years in the game Mobb is probably the most consistent duo of all time. At one point, Prodigy was arguably a "Top 5 lyricist" along side the Nas', Pun's and the Jada's of the mid-late 90's. Along with the grimey lyrics of both Hav & P, longevity, and Hav's in-house dark production, makes their music timeless and classic! "Reality Rap!" They spit what they lived. It cannot get any realer than that. Gotta handle some business, gotsta finish this up later wit the Great Pun and the GREAT Immortal Technique. Hopefully some other seasoned Hip-Hop heads will enlighten you in the meantime.

Shooting a bullet through the snippet of his verse - Nas is definitely, the most poetic on the grand stage of Hip Hop! This album should get CRITICALLY ACCLAIM like DISTANT RELATIVES. You're not a fan of music if you don't have that album. This world is about expand your mind to endure the roads of peril. That other stuffs teaches you nothing!! --And that's the difference NAS brings to the table from everybody else!
