Though slightly brash, Wiz Khalifa's story seeks to inspire where it could be mistaken for empty stunting.

An unexpected leader figure to the younger generation, Wiz Khalifa's perseverance has paid off with his Taylor Gang brand becoming grand in scale after years of industry setbacks. His ongoing ascent has taken on wings from the mixtape circuit to the business acquisition of reignited Southern icon Juicy J, enabling him to put on for Pittsburgh as both an artist and potential mogul. With a growing number of reasons to stick out his often exposed and underdeveloped chest, O.N.I.F.C. is his hotly anticipated major sophomore release.

Rarely the source of public controversy, Wiz Khalifa has worked his professional career into a simple science of chasing money and smoking marijuana in excess, the primary topics conveyed on O.N.I.F.C. Though he is conceptually limited to flaunting wealth, the strength of his weed and his general propensity towards both, vivid depictions of his lavish lifestyle make up for the lack of lyricism and new ideas. The vanity Wiz and Cam'ron present on "The Bluff" matches the unsurprising 2 Chainz collaboration "It's Nothin,'" odes to the easy life that fit in well with the lovey dovey "Got Everything" and the Pharrell highlighted "Rise Above," briefly featuring Wiz's socialite beau Amber Rose. Bringing things full circle, "The Plan" explains appreciation for how his visions came to fruition with no immediate plans of slowing up.

Taking every opportunity to remind listeners of his accomplishments and dedication to lighting up, the music of O.N.I.F.C. reflects the outlandish nature of its cover art. The album slightly suffers from copycat syndrome with "Initiation" being the latest in Hip Hop's long line of Lex Luger replications (guest starring Lola Monroe, Taylor Gang's Nicki Minaj soundalike) and "Remember You" following the trend of working with drug chic singer The Weeknd, but Wiz Khalifa mostly succeeds at occupying his own comfortable lane. Though slightly inconsiderate and brash, his story seeks to inspire where it could all be mistaken for empty stunting.

Definitely a dope album. Amazing production and Wiz flows well. Dont know whats all the hate for. People need to learn how to judge something for what it is, instead of judging it for what its not

    • Anonymous

People judge it bad cuz it sucks. Some of his songs are good. But you can't Call it hip hop he,S just rapping the same over different beats. Hes wack only rap about weed and money. Its pop music

  • D.Rokks

    Best albums ever #rollingpapers #onifc

  • Anonymous

he didnt smoke enough bud while making dis album

  • Ricardo

Albums good, inspires me to stack my paper higher & work hard! TGOD

  • pop

I hated it at first but its great to burn to and has slowly grown on me making me now think its pretty dope

  • Ace Boogie

weakest album of the year, 2012

  • Brandon

Album is amazing, if you can be diverse and understand where he is going in music.. and also smoke this is that album

  • Anonymous

    boring. nothing to taIk about

  • Mike

There is nothing ok about this album, this shit is terrible. The best song was the last one, it took him a whole album to throw a decent song out, and Medicated was not all that good either. Fall Asleep might be the worst song I've ever heard, every damn song sounded like filler. He needs to stop making music, and why the hell did he have Amber Rose rapping?

  • Rohan

An unfortunate deviance from the old Wiz, Amber Rose BLOWS. Paperbond and Medicated go hard.

  • Anonymous

the title is one thing, the cover another damn ya guys cought fatjoe talking about that fagmafia on vladtv? they must be strong handing out skirts and shit all thats missing on that cover is a dildo

  • green

he sounds like the 2012 snoop dogg on the entire album, which is that washed up, cant say how pathetic that iss considering he so young

  • YOBO

Better then rolling papers, not anywhere near his mixtapes.

  • Hunter Garrigus

the album features some decent songs but seems to jump around in the way of genres. Some seem to be pop-like while others are rap. While Wiz and his record label might want to make these radio hits, in the process he is losing a good deal of the fans of his genuine rap that we see in mixtapes like Cabin Fever and Kush & Orange Juice.

  • gsonii

Not hard enough for me. I respect his grind because he obviously has a strong core base if this can sell. Really nothing here to attract new supporters.

  • Alfonso

Great album just like the rest

  • Anonymous

People need to stop comparing everything he puts out to Kush & OJ. That was like 4 years ago. Decent album, typical Wiz sound. His best release since Cabin Fever honestly.

  • KIDT

he keeps it real cuz all he does is smoke weed and get money...so stop the bullshit

  • scrapper

I was being generous wih 3 stars this by far another rushed project by wiz. This is either A the type of B.S. we should get use too or B. Wiz is just no good at makin ablums (which im starting to realize) wiz has some of tje best producers around and still made an OK cd.... smh i personally think wiz is those rappers that crack under pressure mixtapes he can do whatever say whatever when a label limits him he makes okay music!

  • grantybaby

The only thing tight about this album is them candycane pants he wearing! lolol 3.5 my ass, more like a 2.0, and that's just cus of the beats

  • wublock nigga

i agree wit jay but 3/5

  • jay

yall want him to stop rapping about weed and money but tht is all he does he smokes weed and gets money you want him to like these other niggas who rap about guns and selling bricks when half of them aint even like tht wiz keeps it real and im going to keep it real by saying this album was dope 4/5

    • KingTRU0911

i agree you you bra fuck all yall talking shit bout wiz this shit was hard cuz all of yall conform to the world and he dont i rock with what he has on in the cover cuz he doin him he aint faking for you bitch niggas jay got the realist comment i seen on here about the cd.

  • Tonx

This is weak - I will take rolling papers any day over this. BEAT album.

  • Anonymous

wiz raps about cuz rappin about weed got him famous n dats wat we wanna hear so stop hatein bitch

  • RockD20

This cd is ok. Just like he is now. Since he been with ole girl his muzik has been down. But the cd is ok.

    • grantybaby

I agree! It's like she sucked all the Swag Jizz outta him. Deal or No Deal, Kush and OJ (previous mixtapes), his best shit by far. Half of Wiz' dopeness was talkin bout females. Now, he just raps about how he got all this shit that you don't got/can't get, and weed. The author talkin' bout he "inspiring"??? He inspiring me alright... To jump my broke ass off the nearest bridge lol

  • Anonymous

The dude has to step it up but the ablum has good production thats about it! I guess it good to zone out to while burning it down!

  • Rehab

FUCKING HORRIBLE ALBUM!!! rap about something else other than weed!

  • Mariel Harmon

Wiz shows that he can be versitle.

  • tron

this sucks... lyrics are trash.... waste of my money. And hiphopdx you should be ashamed of yourselves giving this trash a 3.5/5. Stop preaching for views and start giving real shit for your viewers.

  • MacS

Some of these beats are so sick, it's a shame he has nothing to say over them. I wish I could buy an instrumental version of the album.

    • Anonymous

That has always been my opinion about Wiz. He mostly raps about smoking weed. I haven't heard this album yet so I will hold my opinion of ONIFC till I hear it thou

  • Anonymous

for you who say this album is wiz listin to pince of da city btw wiz sucks ballz and look gay

  • Anonymous

y yall hating on da man...dis is his best album so far..therr onlu a certain amount of topics u can rap about...y would he rap about killing and robbing and slappin hoes dats not his life...he rap about hetting money smoking weed cuz dat wAAAt he does

    • Cocaine Howard

That's where the divide is. I'm a stoner Wiz fan that believes ONIFC was him rapping about his lifestyle. But his flow, wit, and appeal he used to have just wasn't there. He starting to sound just all these other industry ass niggas. There are more clever ways to say "I got so muuuuiuch".

  • girthbrooks

check it out yo this album is sorry, wat is my nigga wearing on that album cover? the money really got to this fools head to quick unlike kanye who earned his money and didnt let it get to him until recently now hes a psychopath too, peace imma go listen to some classic outkast Extra Terrestrial BIATTTT

Best Songs Paperbond Bluffin Got Everything No Limit Initiation The intro has a dope beat I wish he wouldve rapped over it or something.

  • Anonymous

Best production Ive heard on an album in a year or so. Hands down. The rapping isnt anything special but it works. The hooks are good. The whole vibe of the album is just great. Definitely a dope album

  • northtexas

    the plan was nice!

  • Anonymous

It's music. Some will like it, some wont. Whichever side you pick, Wiz didn't make this specifically for you so your opinions count for nothing. Btw support your artists, go buy their albums.

  • unknown

wasn't horrible but deal or no deal >>> onifc and i think deal or no deal was average.

  • TRASH

tryd smokin a blunt ta dis n dozed off, damn dis shit borin

  • ron

k&oj>>>>>>>all his other shit couple questions.... what the fuck is this cat wearing on this album cover? how many times does he say "champagne" and "weed" on this album? i feel like it was cool on k&oj cuz it was somethin different, but come to realize that it is all his says, almost every song. get ya lyrics up man

    Rolling Papers >>>>> ONIFC

  • steven

    ONIFC >>>>> Rolling Papers

  • W

Why do some y'all act like every rapper you listen to is great? Damn there needs to be artist like Wiz to just chill and listen to. I like lyrical stuff too but sometimes you need a break from it

  • Corey

great album, if u actually follow wiz and love what he does ull like this album, sick of all the negativity to this album, its ridiculous, what did you all expect, this album has wiz all over it.

    • Ola Dioss

well thats not true. its about the fact you can relate to the artist Wiz is a 80's baby...I can relate to his hustle. I like lyrical music and relaxing easy going shit also, I like Wiz cos he showed us his hustle he documented it and I could relate to it...Kush and OJ was a fantastic mixtape...his debut album was really dissapointing, listening to ONIFC pleases me because he improved on his last album and he sees he has to cater to his main fanbase and perfect his own style before he tries to venture out and do something more insightful, just when his fans are ready to hear it and have had enough of this smoke weed rap...salute to wiz

    • J

@Truth..you sound like an conceited dumbass. You act as if theres something wrong with having an artist that you like basically all of their material. Its called being a big fan. Due to you being human you are going to be biased towards someone that you like more

    • The Truth

If you follow him & love everything he does, you are a dickrider. Dickriders love everything their artist does. Even trash albums like this.

    Two words Whiz: Die Soon!

If You Listened To Taylor Allerdice Then You Should Have Expected For It to Sound Like It Does, His Last Mixtape, Cabin Fever 2 Kinda Had Me Worried Though Since It Was Trash, So For Post Kush And Orange Juice Wiz This Is A Good Album..Maybe No AOTY But It's Better Than Rolling Papers

    • Young chip

How is this a good album for kush and oj wiz what the fuck are you u on... kush oj wiz was too sick.. flow wise and vocally. That mixtape was nicely put together and had the skits on it.Making it a classic mixtape for the stoners. He had a nice mellow flow and didnt sound fucking like annoying as he does now, i am really worried for his future. This album was very bad one of the worst albums i have heard this was mixtape quality shit man if that, it was all over the darn place. I should slap you for even comparing this to kush and oj u fucking moron who dosnt know quality music.. easily brainwashed by the media fkin jackass

  • young chip

I believe I meant comment if u agree.

  • young chip

This album is trash man how the fuck people gna say sick album or classic or a god damn hiphop site giving it a 3.5. I will never understand the logic, yeah wiz was the man once upon a time, yeah his early shit was banging and sick as fuck but guess what he got wifed up all the money came in and he dont giv a fuck now plus i think he smoked himself stupid i.e. his dress apperence like cmon dude how u gna giv the hard man talk (cabin fever 2) if u dress like a girl, you could have pulled it off if it was the old him. His lyrics are just so shit now every song starts of with money cmon man thats gta be annoying after a while.. i make my peace with the weed lyrics but cmon man he has so much more potential.. his lyrics were quite good back then and how u going to come and say u own the game when you aint even released a sick album.. yes we know ur mixtapes were banging but cmon he fell of way to quick. Plus his new flow sucks wtf r people on about saying it so amazing, rapping extremely fast in a space of 4 seconds and mummbling thw words kind off and then takin a break isnt a sick flow to me. Paperbond only worth while track, but still has those "annoying" things he does with his voice. - the only tracks worthy of calling "sick" i have heard since january are ground up (domo genisis track), california, brainstorm. Maybe even tweak is heavy for when ur high n for the jokes of it lol. THUMBS UP IF U FKIN AGREE.

    • ola dioss

your right but try not too sound so angry homie...you know its an improvement on that fucked up previous album, this one is more in shape, despite the fact the track with cam lyrics wise was the same old shit the chemistry showed some positive signs, the plan is well executed but i can understand what your saying lol...he should take the JET LIFE lessons a lil more wisely :)

    • young chip

I clearly didnt read what u said becuase what cuaght my eye was "good album" dont care what content it was said in, thats just daft. Im not comparing him too no one but himself and why u getting all defensive like a bitch. U must be a cocksucker fan who will like anything he produces. And u still think that flow he does is good jesus. every beat or not it sucks. He can rap (flow), sing, write better lyrics but chooses not too. And why.. i will never understand he's been known for like nearly 2 years and has fallen off so fast. taylor allerdice was 100 times better than this. No where near this garbage. Cant even classify it as an album its so bad.

    • Esquire

Of Course Kush And Oj Is His High Point (Which Is Why I Said Post) And You Can't Read Fool Since I'm Comparing It To Taylor Allerdice I'm Also Saying That Fuck Cabin Fever 2 Since It Sounds Like He Tried To Had To Pull Off The Beats Lex Luger Had Gave Him..His Flow Isn't For Every Beat And Please Don't Try And Compare You Really Can't Compare This Nigga To Anybody Since Like You Said He's Not What He Used To Be

  • bullshit

for people to be considered good at what they do, they should be good at what they do. the nigga was NEVER even CLOSE to decent. nigga out there makin stupid bread at shows while people who make his shrimp ass look like a joke makin way less bread or none cuz they're more worried about their artistry than what they wear and who they fuck. get off this dudes dick. mcdonalds gets crazy sales. does that make them "better" than a fuckin unknown gourmet steakhouse? idiots.

    • ola dioss

      stoner typo :/

    • ola dioss

thats a good point! thats actually very true. maybe because there is this transitional period in Hip-Hop at that the moment?? What do you think about Kendrick bringing the standard up? Nice to see some smart people on these sites.

    • Dilla

THANK YOU! I listen to the nigga's shit but I know what it is, which aint much....just some shit to bob my head too but to all these people talkin about this albums SOOOOO Great....Really? What album is it being compared to? That's what I need to know.

  • Dax

I like the album, it's not like his mixtapes, u could def confuse the bravado rap for stunting, but I beileve he just stressing what his platinum song is saying "work hard, play hard". Put ya hustle forward and recive ya blessings. And I think you def gotta be high to really vibe to it. Not his best but def not the worst. Peace/love and hard work.

  • Anonymous

Man i dont understand both sides catching mad feelings off this shit. Wiz' 'music' can easily be summed up: If you under 16 and/or dont care about lyrics you might like it. If you over 16 and/or do care about lyrics you probably wont like it. Its a simple as that. Pick your side and get on with life no moaning necessary

  • Johnfirecloud

To me Been a Weed rapper its a great album

    • Anonymous

Yes exactly! wiz has stayed with his weed music and look at him he is a millionaire he will always have a fan base as long as weed exists taylor gang

    • Anonymous

Good joke. Wiz is just a nowaday basic rapper with basic lyrics. He's weak lyrically and always raps about the same things.

  • jd

wiz khalifa O.N.i.f.C album was another let down after coming strong with cabin fever 2 he again did another album much like last years release "rolling papers" not on the same page of what makes us love wiz . Now dont get me wrong the album isn't a totally lost it does have some songs u can enjoy more then once like , The bluff ft. camron , rise above ft. pharrell and amber rose, Medicated ft. chevy woods and juicy j. i feel mostly in this album it is way to slow and mellow . you can tell he was looking to make some thing we can smoke too. I feel like he was hoping we where high during the whole album hoping we didn't notice how much it isn't . in short you was looking for some dank and he sold u some stress . To the dgwforever family this is a no buy.

    • ola dioss

thats true too ^ he sounds like he trying hard to cater to his fanbase right? Like the previous album he was trying to make something he's not comfortable with, and in this project he's "trying" to be comfortable at what he does instead of just "being" comfortable at what he does. Maybe he's feeling the pressure of the label? Or himself?

  • T^6

Give it a 3, I still like Wiz I don't really understand the hate but I miss hearing Prince of The City 2 Wiz

  • kody

I liked Wiz alot better when he first came out, back when his lyrics had substance. Im talking way before rolling papers. This is decent but not great.

  • gr

Taylor Gang may think this is a 3.5. But from an objective point of view, one may say this is less than a 3.5.

  • EM

This lyrics says so much about DX reviews now days... "When the mics used to mean somethin, a four was like you were the shit, now its like the least you get three and a half now just means you a piece of shit four and a half or five, means you Biggie, Jigga, Nas"

  • Dyallan

This album is mind fucking amazingly done. He outdid his self on the album, idgaf if you a new fan or an old fan you cannot help but to fall into the melodic melodies in the instrumentals and you cant help but to be proud of him or makeing it so far. And he keeping it to what he knows, and thata what wiz is known for. This album is fanominal so dont have any negativity going into it and let it take your mind on a journey

  • Anonymous

being a big wiz fan this is by far one of his worst albums he isn't even wiz in half of them

the lyrics are so generic on this album. He or somebody else said every line on this album before it came out. I think people just like his different sounding voice and his style.

  • Anonymous

Not as good as his first. He flopped. I hate when niggas make better mixtapes than they actual albums.

  • Anonymous

everything on dx is a 3.5 lol!

  • Kanye

fuck this ugly talentless skinny motherfucker. this album sucks bad, there's maybe 1 or 2 tracks you can't skip and actually listen to without having a major headache. "An unexpected leader figure to the younger generation" if this faggot lookin moron is the leader, then this generation is wayyyy fucked up and lost.

  • YESSIR

3.5? how low can u possibly set the bar DX? this shit is getting rediculous. every album is either a 3 or 3.5.. This album received only a half a star lower than Life is Good. Really? Reeaallly? This is just allowing wack motherfuckers to put out wack shit. This solidifies that DX supports this wack music. When albums like this are given 3.5 stars, it signifies that its ok for rappers to keep putting out garbage like this. why not raise the fucking bar? why not give this a 2 star rating like it deserves and make rappers step their fucking game up like they should. a 3.5 should be a solid hip hop album. a 4 should be a great album. a 4.5 should be something incredible that will go down in hip hop history. and a 5 should ONLY be given to real classic albums that are considered masterpieces, not only considering the artist at hand, but an overall masterpiece that withstands the hands of time and will be forever cemented as one of the greatest albums in hip hop. You, hiphopdx are partaking in what's wrong with hip hop. without anyone willing to fix it because it might fuck up publicity, shame on you and you're entire organization because you are not hip hop. 3.5? ...3.5??? Didn't Pac's Me Against the World get a 3.5 in Rolling Stone?? So you compare this shit to that?? God damn the game has been fucked up.

    • Anonymous

@Jarvis...nigga do you not realize that this is an artist that consistently make terrible music ... so what if his production is alright, his lyrics and subject matter are so terrible. Production and hooks don't get an album a 3.5. If you're just gonna rate just the artists music compared to what they've made before, there is absolutely no reason to rate albums at all, and no reason for any artist to grow and develop their music. Don't defend Wiz on this terrible album, it deserves a 2.5 at best.

    • Jarvis

You can't compare ratings scales from 2 different places. Thats just dumb. Wiz's mix tapes might be better because he has more creative control. Most of you don't like him. Plain and simple. Artist are judged by the type of music THEY make. Waka Flocka is a terrible rapper but his album is not going to get a 1 star rating from every site. Why? Because he is judged by the type of music he makes. Compared to Nas his album may be a 1or 2 but when placed on his scale it can be a 3. A lyrical rapper will be judged for how good of a lyrical rap album they made. A rapper like Wiz can't be judged by the same terms as Nas. Wiz is flawed in one area and thats subject matter. This album is a 3 or 3.5 because of the great production, good hooks, and decent raps.

    • john jones

As a wiz fan... i totally agree with what bollloxx how can this album get good reviews. Probably 2 or 3 decent tracks (just giving him that because of what hes put out in the past). Total trash, even cabin fever 2 was better than the whole album and that tape was average at best for a tape. The POTC/Kush OG Wiz is long gone... and he has gained new faggoott fans aged 11-17 who must be more retarded than ymcmb fans, calling this shiiitt a classic. p.s. POTC2/KUSH & OJ/ Maybe even Cabin Fever one of the best mixtapes i have heard. Rolling papers > ONIFC. Also check out Games Jesus Piece that shiittt is quality music, don't think no-one is expecting it to be that good, but it is!.

  • Kizman

Typical avg user rating. Popular rating is 1, lol. Why are so many people so judgmental? I've read comments dissing the album solely on the cover. You can break down hip hop into 3 simple categories. Lyricism, production, and flow. WE ALL KNOW that Wiz doesn't talk about much, but for some fucking reason you guys expect the dude to come up with an album talking about how much life sucks or some shit and even if he did talk about serious shit you hating asses would still say some shit about him being a poser or a fake rapper. Production and flow is the only thing Wiz is good at. You guys must be deaf in the ear or broke enough to be seriously butthurt from this guys money lyrics. Go listen to immortal technique and shit all day you emo fucks. Idk how you guys can listen to sad rap constantly. Those raps are legit but fuck..be real. How can you happily bang to something that's talking about sorrows or something negative?

    • John Jones

Are you kidding me.. i have been listening to wiz since his first mixtape what do you know about his music. Its only recently since taylor allderice he's constantly start rapping about weeed, atleast in that mixtape he rapped about other stuff. Cabin fever 2 n ONIFC were trash man totally rapping about weed only. People who say he never been lyrical are you honestly dumb, he's had decent lyrics since POTC to Kush and OJ. Since he totally blew up and got wifed up and changed his appearance to a fag, he has become so shiitt. Paperbond and Rise above (besides tuki/amber verses) were decent tracks. How can he relsease music of quality for an album i will never understand, when i heard the 1st track i was like damn thing gna be some good smoking shit then after that it all just fell apart.

    • yourboy

Kizman, that is the truest comment on this poxy site, these niggas need to live a little and stop thinking they in the game and know what "Real HipHop" is

  • Lafayette

Wiz Crappola, that's what his name should be because this is just pathetic. 15 Tracks of the same thing over and over with a different beat. I get it, you have money now, congrats but does that mean that you need to make 15 tracks about it, pathetic. This is the kind of artist that makes hip-hop suck and black kids want to be just like this loser. I love it when an emcee like Lupe Fiasco, Canibus and even Eminem drop an album and people dog the shit out of it but then come on here and love shit like this. The level of people's ear for music and intelligence is what it speaks volumes of. This is shit on a disc, if you buy it then you'll get more of, "You bought, I profit, I'm rich now, got a bitch that's down, I got it" all over again.

  • Real Talk

danm nigga, this the first time i heard that "Remember" track. This is where he loses me from spending money on his albums. How can u rap about smoking, money, clothes, when the hook is about fucking a bitch. This ngga got no substance. But hey he makes good tracks to smoke to, just wish he made tracks that made me feel some type of emotion.

    • John Jones

you mums a homo, its true he had substance, he was on fire, the best upcoming artist. Then blew up and over the past year he has realised such garbage.. it just goes to show that he.. smoked himself stupid. went from a G (as he always says) to a fag in over a year. How is that possible.. amazes me.

It's funny how many people on this site are hating on the guy, how wack he is, but yet they went out and bought or burnt the album instantly. You were excited to hear this, take a look in the mirror and see who the real clowns are. I'm going to buy the album tomorrow to give him a shot. All you people making fun of the guy are going to burn or buy his next album a year from now so quit your whining.

Harper. true that Aaron`s rep0rt is inconceivable, on monday I got a great Subaru Impreza since I been making $7764 this past 5 weeks and just a little over ten k lass-month. with-out a doubt this is the best-job Ive had. ok wiz, we get it, you smoke weed. Congrats, we're happy for you, now some real music.

  • LOLWIZSUCKS

HAHAHHAHA THIS IS TERRIBLE. SOOOO GLAD I PIRATED THIS INSTEAD OF BUYING IT!!!

  • CHIEF

I was expecting more, but still not bad overall. Guess we'll have to wait for Chief Keef to drop his album in a couple more weeks.

  • Anonymous

What did HHDX listen to? O.o

  • Anonymous

Rolling papers was also a chill album except each song had great quality and quantity except this album. This album had 4 good songs and the others were just cheep recycled garbage. It seems Wiz invested too much money on his mixtapes because even his Taylor Allderdice mixtape has some fair rivalry with this album! 5.5/10

  • done

This album is garbage. This dude is done making good music.

  • Shyne Is Gay

I had to bootleg this shit cause I didnt want to be seen in line with that gay ass album cover

  • Deuce7290

Honestly this is way fuckin' better than Rollin' Papers...

  • ak

fuckin haters man. i fucked wit rollin papers, i fuck wit his mixtapes, and fuck wit dis. what the others are sayin, wiz keps it real, he blows trees, he pops champagne and hes livin his life. he aint frontin on some bullshit like other rappers u look up to. talkin bout slangin this, and bussin that, its all bullshit. my dude keeps it real, got that space spacely sound, and a flow that i heard even the veterans jockin a bunch of times now. i'm all over this, only 5 tracks i took out of my playlist and the rest of it played through like a dream. that's a very good album for me these days.

    • r

Why the fuck do niggas ride rappers dick. Man everyone is fake as fuck, I got past it. I just care whether the music is good or not. Dick riding fans. This shit is garbage musically. I know plenty of "real" dudes who can't make good fucking music. Should I support them even if they're garbage? Damn son...

    • Anonymous

Making music and keeping it real should remain two separate things. If your music sucks who gives a fuck how "real" you are?

  • Jayy

Better than expected, not great as the old wiz, but better than I thought it would be. Better than cabin fever 2 for sure. 3 1/2

  • SpaceGhostPurp

Really? 2.44? This album isn't the best shit he's ever put out but it's way more clsoe to wiz than rolling papers. fake ass fans jumping off now that he's doing well. wiz may not differ from his comfort zone to much but this album is well produced with good beast and hooks and features and wiz still has the best delivery out there. 4/5

  • arkitekt

That cover says enough. I knew this shit would be wack. Wiz fell the fuck off. Save your money faggot.

  • realtalk82

Honestly Medicated and Rise ABove are the only songs I will replay and maybe The Bluff but this is a very boring record overall, just no story telling or sick rhymes to keep me interested 2 stars for me for Medicated!!

  • asher1985

3.5?! this album is a 2 at the VERY best. I'm voting it a 1 though, rolling papers was so much more enjoyable to listen to, I'm disappointed to say the least.

  • Anonymous

Everyone has to remember this is Mainstream. Industry picks 90% of the tracks. Mixtapes is where wiz does his shit thats why he isnt trippin

  • JP

gay ass album of the year

  • Anonymous

This got the same rating as Wu-Block, but the users rated Wu-Block 4.52 while this is rated 2.55 by the users. Lol! HHDX what a joke! They stay hatin' on the Wu!

    • Anonymous

HHDX promotes some good stuff but they also try to cater to mainstream fans and they end up giving mainstream albums better scores then they should have and end up giving independent/underground albums lower scoers then they deserve. So they got some sort of bias going on when it comes to album reviews. Its really one of the only bad things about the site minus the constant promotion of meaningless beefs and other meaningless or negative bullshit.

    • firealarm

Wu-Block album is fire. I had to buy that shit I liked it so much.

  • Anonymous

I really tried to feel this album, listened a couple of times, but honestly, wise feel way off.

  • Anonymous

Disappointed with this album. I loved Deal or No Deal, and even Rolling Papers but this CD has wayyy too many tracks I skip over. Hopefully a fourth listen changes my mind but right nowi give it a 2/5 maybe a 2.5.

  • Sam Hutchinson

Just a note to the editor - "beau" is a gendered word, meaning male lover. Amber Rose, to the best of my knowledge, is Wiz's wife, not husband.

  • Anonymous

Horrible rapper. Annoying voice, terrible lyrics, basic flow, no creativity... Oh wait that describes 75% of rap out right now...

  • The Truth

Short & sweet - it sucked. A couple solid tracks and the rest is trash.

  • t-cav

wiz i believe losted it im shyt look at the album cover we dont need another jimi hendrix reject the album was ehhhh....i didnt like rolling papers but i would bump that b4 this even deal or no deal with was more of a compilation...i hate to say it but ever since he got with the jumpoff & wifed her up hes lost his style

  • FURYAN

WHAAAT ??? THIS ALBUM IS COOL

  • Anonymous

    Average, I give it 3/5

  • 22thouy

ive never seen no one sit in a chair like that in my life. nigga look like he slipping off the seat but still tryna play it off and look cool LMAO

  • Anonymous

HHDX really needs a better scale for rating albums. What is the definition of 3.5 at this point? Slightly better than mediocre? Amazing but flawed? 3.5 is the same score as you gave Cruel Summer, and while that album wasn't the best, it sure as hell was better than this. Seems like the reviewers are simply trying to maintain viewership and are hesitant to really stick it to these rappers. Everybody knows Wiz can make a hook, but he has 48 bars in his songs that he refuses to put effort in, and unless we put pressure on rappers to really use their head and care about what they write, they won't give a fuck.

  • bizzalls

YO...what is this WACK ass muthafucka wearing??? Is he wearing Amber's outfit? You gonna have a kid with Amber and wife her up?? You fuckin pussy! And your music is garbage as fuck!!!

  • yeaaahh

Okay, everyone knows Wiz has limited subject matter, but his flow and hooks make up for it. He's one of the best in hip-hop when it comes to making actual songs, and he has his own swag/style. No one sounds like him. You ever heard the saying "it's not what you say, it's how you say it"? Well, that definitely applies to Wiz.

  • LupesFiasco

Eight people gave this a 5 and 1 is the most popular rating!? I agree with the writer, there's nothing groundbreaking about this album. But is it trash? Absolutely not. This dude got rich as hell when he was 20 years old so now he's all about gettin fucked up and chasing bitches. He's not posing or rappin about bein hard as fuck. He's just rappin about his life. It's chill music to blow trees to. Take it or leave it, but that's all it's ever been and that's all it will ever be.

    • Anonymous

Rolling papers was also a chill album except each song had great quality and quantity except this album. This album had 4 good songs and the others were just cheep recycled garbage. Dam niggas is haters for real. Most niggas want these dudes to rhyme about what they want but they don't understand it don't work like that. You cant listen to an album and expect anything. Niggas giving this album a 1 is straight hating. And it seems like this happens all the time with popular rappers. Some of them deserve the low grades but not all of them.

    • yeaaahh

@STREEZY - lucky? Wiz is a hard worker and deserves everything he gets.. and it's pretty sad that you call Amber a dumb ass slut like you know her.. have you heard her speak or seen her in interviews? She's far from dumb. She's just like any other girl that's been with a few dudes. The only difference is she's in the public eye so it SEEMS worse.

    • avramel

He got lucky? He got lucky on his own work.

    • STREEZY

Chasin bitches??? First of all, this dude got LUCKY, bottomline. IF he didn't have Black and Yellow, he never woulda blown up. And how is he chasin bitches?? He's married to that dumb ass slut! This kid is a clown ass dude.

    • Anonymous

chasing bitches? hes the simp of the year

    • fatboyrule

I love how you all use the term co-sign... like you're all poor and need help buying a car...

    • Anonymous

Co-sign 100 percent. What else would you expect Wiz to rap about? Whenever I wanna listen to some chilled-out shit, I turn to Wiz.

  • Anonymous

The beats were a significant improvement, but Wiz's rapping on albums is still shit.

  • MusicFan

I'll give it a 4/5. It actually was better than Rolling papers.

  • Arnie

I've been a huge fan of Wiz since Pittsburgh Sound, and I really am elated at his success, but it saddens me to my core at what he has become. There was such promise, and I had such hope that he was the one, a phoenix rising from a sea of ashes of mediocre hip hop, though it has become painfully clear that he is nothing but a false prophet, a fraud. I know that Wiz owes me nothing, but I can't help but feel cheated about what could have been. Hope is a dangerous word, but I am afraid that is all I got now.

    • Arnie:

I very much agree. I really do hope that we have some better mixtapes on datpiff in the future to enjoy.

    • Arnie:

I very much agree with you. I very much hope that we have some better mixtapes to enjoy on datpiff in the future.

    • Arnie:

@Jarvis - I very much agree with you. I very much hope that we have some better mixtapes to enjoy on datpiff in the future.

    • Arnie:

I very much agree with you. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we will see some hotter mixtapes out on datpiff in the future.

    • Arnie:

@Jarvis - I very much agree with you. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we will see some hotter mixtapes out on datpiff in the future.

    • Jarvis

Understood and well stated. I really like those other tracks. I just think this is the best you'll get from him in a major release. Atlantic has too much power

    • Arnie

With all due respect, I think the real question is what I was hoping for. It pains me to say it, but I think I got what I expected. What I had hoped for was a return to something like the bangers on Wiz's Show and Prove mixtape - tracks like Keep the Conversation and Too Late. After listening to jams like Number 16 and and The Cruise on Taylor Allderdice, I had hope that Wiz was reverting back to what made him great. My real fear is that whatever committee of balding, tie-wearing executives over at Atlantic Records that is responsible for this album will continue to have Wiz churn out this bland garbage. It's almost as if they took a young Leonardo da Vinci, and instead of having him create his masterpieces of the late 1400's / early 1500's, he was relegated to sketching tourist caricatures outside of the Colosseum for a quick buck. Really tragic, if you ask me.

    • Jarvis

I'm a big Wiz fan so I have all that stuff and have listened to it plenty of times. He has no doubt dumbed himself down some but the lyrics before weren't anything special. He just tried harder before. Sucks when rappers aren't hungry anymore but I still enjoy the music

    • Black De La Rocha

@Jarvis Actually, pre Kush & OJ Wiz was fairly lyrical. Listen to Burn After Rolling, Star Power, or Prince of the City 2. He was never Rakim or Nas, but his lyrics were better. I never thought he was gonna save rap or anything, but he's dumbed himself down quite a bit.

    • Jarvis

What did you expect? Wiz has never been lyrical. He just has his own chill sound, great production, and great hooks. As a rapper he has never gotten better on any project so I don't understand what you expected. He needs to stick to his formula

  • Jarvis

1 is the most popular rating. Are you serious? I don't care if you like wiz or not, we all know this is better than a 1. I doubt most of the people that gave that rating have even listened to the album. Amazes me how far people will go to hate. Do haters even know they're haters?

  • lol

Amazing beats, pretty bad rapping, some pretty good songs tho. Don't know why so much hate for the album cover, he's swagged the fuck out in it. Y'all don't know swag, simps

  • Anonymous

no higher than 2 maybe 2.5

  • K4RM4

This album is straight garbage. Normally I really like Wiz but I recommend everyone not to buy it cause it's not worth your money even when you are a millionair. Just youtube some songs from it and you wil know that the lyrics are boring as hell.

  • Anonymous

dope, fuck you fools, can't you tell a good beat when you hear one. find one good beat on kendricks album better than this album. fuck lyrics bro, if i want lyrics ill listen to someone like nas or eminem.

  • Anonymous

hhdx stays giving out 3.5 ratings

  • 777

3.5?!?! It was total shit, DX.

  • Make up yall minds

Y'all ain't never satisfied! He threw away the pop tracks like yall ask and gave u that kush and oj feel like yall wanted! What do yall want?!

  • Young

You people get so emotional about reviews Why dou you even care what DX reviews a album. How bout you go out and buy or download the shit urself and form your own opinion on it and stop crying about how it got a rating close to life is good!

  • Chris

    • Anonymous

Where's your album then calm down? You obviously have to have some sort of talent for people to hate like Wiz gets hated on.

    • Calm Down

If he's giving the album away, then fuck it, people get what they get. But since its a product, a PURCHASED product, people reserve the right to say what the fuck they want. How would you feel about going to the movies and seeing the same damn movie every time? The album lacks creativity, period. And you don't have to be a fucking genius to make a decent album.

  • johnwall

REASON FOR THE 3.5 STARTS: I own a website therefore I understand some reasons behind the whole 'marketing thing' The main reason is that Khalifa's label paid HHDX to advertise on their website, that being said HHDX gets revenue from people clicking on the link. Therefore by giving the real rating of 2-2.5 people wouldn't really click therefore HHDX would lose money. It's really sad but hey, i guess in this industry MONEY TALKS. *dont expect this comment to be here for long as they willeither remove it or block it

  • Anonymous

he deserves a 1 star rating for that gay ass album cover, what the fuck was he thinking? 10 yrs from now he gonna be super embarrassed when he looks back at that

  • Up North

Khalifa gets the inflated rating because no one expects anything great from him. If he can muddle together some solid production only, most of his "fans" will accept that as success for him. Its a shame that DX and so many others follows suit. Meanwhile, other MC's with high expectations are dissected and these reviewers look for reasons to knock rather than praise.

  • Brandon

    This will be a classic.

  • sever246

This album is a 3 at best. Most of the songs do not have any replay value.

  • d3

3.5? how low can u possibly set the bar DX? this shit is getting rediculous. every album is either a 3 or 3.5..

    • Doublespeak

@d3 - Well said sir; trash like this getting a 3.5 is actually insulting to the albums deservedly getting 4/4.5 Or is 3.5 the median average amount of unskippable songs on the entire album?!

This is a crap review I didnt think the album was all that bad kinda reminds me of OUTKAST AQUEMINI perfect album to pull the bong out and do some serious rips to. Put O.N.I.F.C in ur stereo and hit cloud 9. The beast for the most part are smooth and mellow, his lyrical content isnt as good as rillin papers but its in a completely different lane too.

    • No Keys

Rolling Papers' lyrical content wasn't good though. Wiz hasn't put out a good group of songs since "Kush & OJ", he kind of went back to that sound but we need an evolution.
