Chronicled and spoofed in films like Cannonball Run, Deathrace 2000 and the self-titled 1976 film, the Gumball Rally is an acclaimed 3,000 cross-country race that attracts celebrities, sports car enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

Joining a list of racers that include David Hasselhoff, Jackass cast-members and Playboy playmates, Cypress Hill member and Soul Assassins founder DJ Muggs [click to read] will be driving in the race.

The producer of such hits as House of Pain‘s “Jump Around” and Cypress Hill‘s “How I Could Just Kill A Man” will be behind the wheel of a Range Rover, sponsored by  “Monster Energy Drink, called Coast 2 Coast.”

The course for Muggs will span seven states, running from May 1 through May 8. Fans can attend the Santa Monica Festival Pier on May 1 for a day of activities and wishing the drivers well, for their week-long journey to Miami.

In related news, Muggs announced the third installment from his Soul Assassins outfit. A June 23rd release, Intermissions, will come on Gold Dust Media, with supporting help from RZA, Prodigy, Evidence, Alchemist and Bun B.
