Oprah Winfrey took time recently on her talk show to address the Rihanna/Chris Brown incident in front, urging the “Umbrella” singer to leave Brown.
“It makes me so sad. The truth is that both Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I were your friend I’d call and say: ‘Give it some time, get yourself counselling, take care of yourself and heal yourself first…‘Love doesn’t hurt and if a man hits you once he will hit you again. I don’t care what his plea is; he will hit you again.“
Winfrey continued, revealing that she would be doing a show this dedicated to the subject of domestic violence. “I want to do a show this month dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world.

“In our country the statistic is one out of four women being battered by their boyfriends. Most don’t tell because they’re afraid that if they do [their abusive boyfriends] will break up with them.”
In related news, Rihanna‘s attorney Donald Etra told MTV News that “At this point, she is willing to do anything that the law requires her to do. … If subpoenaed, she will testify [against Chris Brown].”
