It’s been nearly one year since Maybach Music Group rapper Wale threatened Complex staff via phone after not being included on their “50 Best Albums of 2013” list. Wale has since put his differences with the publication aside and was recently featured in a Complex video poking fun of his phone rant.

Joined by comedian/actor Jerry Seinfeld, Wale appears in a diner and proceeds to discuss not being included on Complex’s list.

Wale appears calm throughout the video and even questions if he should work harder while a riled up Seinfeld explains why Wale should be upset about not being included on the list.

“I read Complex. I know what’s on Complex,” Jerry Seinfeld said during the video. “The list is what determines who matters in this business. No, you’ve already done your best work. It’s behind you. If you met them on the street, you know what they would say? That they have total respect for you. There’s something personal here.”

Seinfeld then proceeds to tell Wale that he should call those at Complex and demand to know why he wasn’t included on the list. The video then ends with Wale calling the Complex offices.

It was in December of last year when Wale phoned the Complex offices to discuss his lack of inclusion on their “50 Best Albums of 2013” list. The rapper spoke directly with Complex staff member Insanul Ahmed and even informed Ahmed to “Get the security ready” at one point during the conversation.

A portion of Wale’s phone rant can be found below:

“Do you think y’all being a responsible publication by continuously to fuckin’ like…do all that petty shit?” he said. “At this point, you know it’s got to be personal. You tellin’ me it’s not personal is like a bold face lie. To be omitted from every type of list that y’all do or be at the bottom of it or every type of way that y’all can omit me, y’all will…Fuck you, dog. You know it’s disrespect. I swear to God I’ll come to that office and start knocking niggas the fuck out. Y’all wanna see some ghetto ignorant shit? That’s what y’all promote. That’s the only thing y’all promote from niggas.”
