The much-anticipated Hot Boys reunion at club Dream in New Orleans was over before it started, after two 24-year-old women and a 26-year-old man were shot by the venue around 12:57am on Monday (Feb. 18).

According to MTV News, police said that the victims were standing on the sidewalk and began running when gunshots were heard. All three victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where their injuries were deemed no life-threatening. The shooting closed the club, and the event was canceled.

None of the Hot Boys were at club Dream at the time of the shooting, though Lil’ Wayne was reached shortly after the shooting. He described a Hot Boys reunion as “only a phone call away.”

The reunion was set to be the finisher on this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, and would’ve marked the first time in years that the group performed together. Only rapper Turk would be unavailable due to his incarceration. Rick Ross, Baby and DJ Khaled, as well as numerous NBA players were expected to attend.

Local police said that they have no suspects or motive in the shooting.
