Hip-hop artists, radio listeners, and other well-wishers will be on hand Friday morning as people gather outside KPFK radio’s studios in North Hollywood, CA, to protest the suspension of a politically active hip-hop DJ.

Fidel Rodriguez, former host of KPFK’s Seditious Beats show, has been suspended indefinitely by the station for having been late for work twice. Some people are suggesting though, that maybe the move had something to do with the fact that he co-hosted a fundraising event for another show suspended by KFPK: Democracy Now! In Exile.

Friday’s protest will see performances by hip-hoppers Aztlan Underground and La Paz, and will be followed by a holiday get-together at a local restaurant.
