After finding rejuvenating success in 2006 with Rick Ross and 2007 with Plies, Slip-N-Slide Records announced the signing of another fledging Florida rapper, Orlando’s Wes Fif. The 22 year-old rapper had been featured with various other rappers, most notably on B.O.B.’s single “Haterz Everywhere,” released by Atlantic Records. The rapper had also been featured in April’s XXL magazine, along with a “Patiently Waiting” nomination from Ozone magazine.

Being a Florida cat, Slip-N-Slide has always been in
the forefront of our music scene, and continues to do so today. I think it was
kind of common sense on both sides. I’m the hottest indie nigga in the streets.
They’re the hottest label with direct access to mainstream, it’s a no
brainer. I’m going to continue doing what I do, making hot music,
” said
Wes Fif in a statement.

Jullian Boothe VP of A&R at Slip-N-Slide Records states,
Ted Lucas (CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records) and I keep our ears to street
looking for all the up and coming acts. Making sure nothing slips past us. We
know how to take artist who wants to work hard and turn them into superstars.
2008 is going to be even bigger with a new roster of rookies breaking down the
door into the lime light. We’ve been here for 12 years and we’ll be here until
we decide to quit and move to Caribbean.
Fif’s album is entitled Get Money Guidelines, and will release in late 2008.
