Rome, Italy

Drake’s sports curse has prompted one team to ban its roster from taking photos with him. Italian soccer club A.S. Roma jokingly announced its decision to forbid players from snapping a shot with Drizzy on Monday (April 15).

“All Roma players banned from taking photos with Drake until the end of the season,” the club declared via Twitter.

Roma’s ban was motivated by French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, which lost 5-1 to LOSC Lille on Sunday (April 14). Prior to the game, Drake took a photo with PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa. The picture and PSG’s dramatic defeat reignited the fervor of the “Drake curse” on social media.

The “Drake curse” affected a few other European soccer teams over the course of April. Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was pictured alongside the OVO superstar days before his club lost to Everton. Crystal Palace suffered a similar fate, losing to Manchester City after Drizzy took a photo with forward Wilfried Zaha.

Drake acknowledged his curse earlier this year, trolling NFL fans ahead of the 2019 AFC and NFC Championship Games. His supposed sports hex previously struck Alabama Football, Kentucky Men’s Basketball, his hometown Toronto Raptors and former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
