Mobile, AL

OMB Peezy was shot in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama following a show on Monday (March 4). The performance took place at Soul Kitchen and featured fellow southern rapper Boosie Badazz as well as a collection of burgeoning talent.

Local Alabama outlet AL.com reported the shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. local time but didn’t mention any names. Police believe gunshots were fired following an altercation with a group of people.

An undetermined number of bullets struck OMB Peezy and one other victim as well as two unoccupied vehicles and one unoccupied building.

While details are still scarce, one of OMB Peezy’s reps confirmed he was shot but will survive.

“We can confirm that Peezy was shot,” his reps told HipHopDX. “He’s doing okay now. No details avail beyond that. ”

Evidence for the case is still mounting and no arrests have been made.

As for OMB Peezy, he quickly took to his Instagram Story following surgery to provide an update: “Bitch-ass niggas shot me.”

Despite these harrowing circumstances, OMB Peezy’s career is poised to continue its ascent. Just last week, he released the official “No Keys” video featuring G-Eazy and is readying his upcoming project, Preacher To The Streets.
