New York, NY

Kanye West is reportedly a victim of a $1 million forgery scam. According to TMZ, a former friend of ‘Ye’s began negotiations with fashion designer Phillip Plein for Kanye to perform at a New York Fashion Week event on Monday (February 11).

Plein agreed to the $1 million price tag and the man allegedly signed Kanye’s name to the contract. He then had Plein wire a $900,000 advance to an account, which the man promptly emptied.

Kim Kardashian debunked the rumored performance on her Twitter account earlier this week.

“He’s not performing at any fashion show this season,” she wrote on Wednesday (February 6). “Just a rumor.”

So far, there’s no word if Plein or the G.O.O.D. Music boss are taking legal action. But it’s not a stretch to conclude it will be their next move.
