DMX is fresh out of prison and saving shows. After Ja Rule had to cancel a previously announced performance on Saturday (January 26), X stepped in to perform at an anniversary party for the Mr. Ciao restaurant in Staten Island, New York.

“DMX you saved the day,” the Mr. Ciao team wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to all that came to party see you February 10th for brunch with @djcamilo.”

The restaurant’s official account shared the message along with a clip of X performing his hit single “Party Up (Up In Here).” DJ Finesse also posted more videos from the event, including snippets of X performing “Ruff Ryders Anthem” and “Where The Hood At?”

X was released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution on Friday (January 25). The platinum-selling rapper completed a one-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to tax evasion.
