Aesop Rock’s catalog continues to evolve in the most weirdly, unexpected and spectacular ways. Most recently, the celebrated cerebral MC reemerged with Malibu Ken, his collaborative project with Black Moth Super Rainbow’s TOBACCO.

After dropping off “Acid King” — the first single from the duo’s upcoming self-titled album — Malibu Ken is back with a video for “Corn Maze.”

Directed by Rob Shaw, the visual starts with Aes’ 3:55 a.m. wake up call, a bowl of Kirby O’s and the dazed insomniac sitting on the couch while checking out the TV guide. After he lands on the Death Force cartoon, Aes is catapulted into an animated world where the characters are trying to thwart Lord Gore’s “Evil Plan.”

Par for the course, Aesop throws out a lyrical gauntlet for the listener to brave.

“I’m the world weekly news bat child, B-lining ash pile to ash pile to ash pile, for every ghost climbing out the flat-file, every gaffe, every lone spaz in the snack aisle, cracked out, don’t touch that dial ever, these trap doors forecast quagmire weather,” he spits.

Malibu Ken is expected to arrive on January 18 via Rhymesayers Entertainment.
