After XXXTENTACION was fatally shot in June, Lil Pump approached X’s mother Cleopatra Bernard with an idea to continue her son’s musical legacy. Subsequently, they put together the single “Arms Around You” featuring Maluma and Swae Lee.
Produced by Skrillex, Mally Mall and JonFX, the track blends Latin, alternative, Hip Hop and pop flavor into one cohesive sound. It culminates with a chant from X: “Arm’s around you/Te amo mami/Let me hold you/Wrap my arms all around you.”

Although X’s second album ? has been certified platinum and he’s amassed a loyal legion of fans, his legacy is shrouded in controversy. Most recently, a 27-minute secret recording surfaced of X admitting he’d stabbed multiple people and abused his ex-girlfriend.
Prior to his death, he was facing multiple charges stemming from a 2016 domestic violence case. The case was closed in the wake of his passing.
Despite the allegations, X’s supporters have rallied around the late Broward County artist to show their dedication.
