Kevin Gates teamed up with the Hollywood Escape House for a special preview of his uniquely-created escape room “House On Carolina” on Wednesday (October 17) before it opened to the public on Thursday (October 18.)
The mind-bending experience is based on the home he and his wife, Dreka Gates, used to trap out of in Baton Rouge, Louisiana during their early twenties.
Much how Kevin and Dreka were able to escape pushing weight for a living and into a world where Gates is now a multi-platinum selling artist, fans are now able to experience something similar with this themed escape room based on the home he’s often heard rapping about. 2007’s Pick of Da Litter and 2008’s All or Nuthin’ were both recorded while living there.
HipHopDX was on hand to experience the “House on Carolina” escape room ahead of it opening to the public and it was nothing short of an incredible, heart-pumping adventure.

Paired in a group of eight, we were put to the task of making our escape from the “House on Carolina” before law enforcement showed up to shut down our entire operation. Leave no contraband behind was the running adage as we all put our heads together trying to figure out how to escape. It was a challenging endeavor to say the least.
We were able to successfully escape with all contraband and incriminating evidence in a record time of 45 minutes and we had Gates’ recently released Luca Brasi 3 mixtape softly playing in the background for extra motivation.

Opening the last escape door was such a thrilling moment for everyone. Being greeted by Kevin and Dreka — who is an escape room enthusiast herself — as the final hoorah was such an exhilarating way to celebrate our expeditious breakout.
