Juicy J called in to Zane Lowe’s World Record Beats 1 radio show this week to debut his new single “Neighbors” featuring Travis Scott. During the conversation, the Three 6 Mafia vet spoke about what it was like working with Scott and explained how the song came together.

“It’s always amazing when I work with Travis Scott,” he said. “We was working working on his album Astroworld. I brought a bunch of beats over and he was going through some of my beats and stuff. Then, just you know, just kicking it, vibing out. On my way out the studio, I was headed to another session I like, ‘Yo Trav, I got to get you on my new album. Give me record man, let me get a record.’

“So, he pulled this record up and it was his long, so it wasn’t like in format yet. I took it to the studio and when I got to the studio, I just made one part a hook and the other part sounded more like a verse. I put the first right there and add a me a verse. That was it man. The song is magic.”

From there, J fielded the age-old question: Will Three 6 Mafia ever reunite?

“I love those guys,” he replied. When we started something over 20 years, actually it is over 30 years now, I would love to do something with those guys man. We just need to sit down, you know, figure it out. But it’s all good. No bad blood. All love. I love all those guys.”

Meanwhile, J has another album on the way and has been working with $uicideBoy$, French Montana and Wiz Khalifa.

“I’ve got an album already done,” he said. “I just work. I just work. I’m doing a lot of shows. I got some stuff coming up in Dubai some overseas some overseas stuff, probably a tour next year. I’ve been doing stuff with $uicideBoy$. I’ve been producing.
