Social media has been on fire (no pun intended) since Nike released its 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick.
Although the former San Francisco 49er shared the commercial to his Twitter account on Wednesday (September 5), the ad is officially airing on network television during the NFL season opener on Thursday (September 6).
Ahead of the game, the always undefeated internet has turned the Nike ad into a viral meme, while those boycotting the ad continue throwing matches and gasoline on their Nike gear.
Hip Hop artists such as Pete Rock, 50 Cent, Jahlil Beats, Living Legends’ Luckyiam and an army of other social media enthusiasts have all jumped in with their own versions of the black-and-white ad.
