HipHopDX Premiere: Esteemed underground rap staple Mestizo has teamed up with The Heavy Twelves, a Los Angeles-based electro-psych-beat duo (yes, that’s a thing).

To announce their new collaborative EP, Big Bad Death, the trio has dropped a video for “One Shot Kill” to promote the Fake Four, Inc. project.

Visually speaking, the primarily black-and-white aesthetic and lyrics jetting across the screen put an emphasis on the Machina Muerte co-founder’s rhymes. Coupled with The Heavy Twelves’ wide array of synthesized sounds, their percussion takes a prominent place, but allows the Anticon affiliate’s voice to take centerstage.

To coincide with the digital release, Fake Four is also pressing 250 ultra rare vinyl copies of the project. The picture disc 12″ includes vinyl-only instrumentals on Side B, along with a digital download card for the album.

Pre-orders for Big Bad Death are available here.
