Samuel Akainyah III chose to leave college — where he was pursuing a psychology and communications double major and a Division I football career — and embark on a Hip Hop career as SoloSam. The up-and-coming rapper almost immediately captured the attention in the Chicago Hip Hop scene in doing so.
Since making that fateful decision, he’s seen himself featured in local and national publications, receiving a great deal of buzz on the Chicago circuit and enjoying more than 22,000 streams of his single, “FAST.”
With the release of his debut EP ITIS, SoloSam makes a mark by speaking on the concept of escaping excessive consumerism and the feeling once you give in to it.
