In what is turning out to be a summer riddled with rap beef, another rift has popped off on social media. This time, it’s between veteran DJ/rapper Kid Capri and radio’s resident loud mouth Funkmaster Flex.
On Saturday (June 23), Kid posted an Instagram video with the caption, “I want smoke with @funkflex.”
In the clip, he says, “You talkin’ greezy? You the best from the city? You gonna have to prove it to me now. Now, you gotta wall you gotta run through. Kid Capri. I’m calling you out. I want all the smoke. Do what you gotta do … we still family and I still love you to death but you need a spanking. You talk too crazy. You talk too crazy and I’m gonna shut you up.”
In a second clip, Kid Capri continued berating Flex for claiming to be the “best in the city” and vowed to have Flex “answer” to him. But behind the scenes, Kid was texting Flex and the Hot 97 O.G. decided to share their private messages with his 881,000 followers.

“No friendship lost!” Flex wrote in part. “Peace my brother! U can say or do whatever you feel fit as a man! I don’t answer to you bruh!”
In response to Flex’s Instagram post, Kid posted yet another video clip calling Flex “a lame” and insisting he needs a beat down.

“YOU GOT A BIIIIIIIIG HEAD FLEX, AND NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING TO YOU, so go on your radio show and talk all the shit you want, BUT WHILE YOU TALK, LOOK AT MY TIMELINE!!” Kid wrote. “Everybody knows you talk to much and you need your ass whipped on a stage in front of everybody!!!!!!
“So go ahead and talk your shit to your fans that don’t know any better, BUT THEY GON LEARN TODAY!!! and one more thing, DON’T TELL A LIE ABOUT ME AND I WONT TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU!!!! @funkflex solid!”
Flex’s last response was Saturday when he shared one of Kid’s videos to his own Instagram account with the caption, “HE BIG MAD!!!! Hahahah! Fam u alright??? damn u bitter??? DJS THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS WHEN U FALL OFF! Doggie u high???

Although Flex has seemingly cooled it on his side, Capri is still fired up. On Sunday (June 24), he shared a clip of Flex behind the decks and accused him of being phony. At the same time, he’s begging him to respond and challenges him to a battle.
“When you got that face on like you killing shit!!!!!” Kid wrote. “Wack ass fraud!!! YOU CAN FOOL THESE YOUNG KIDS BUT YOU AINT FOOLING HOP HOP!!! YOU STILL HAVEN’T EXCEPTED MY BATTLE YET!! So I’m on your neck until you do!! for being disrespectful!
