HipHopDX Premiere: As Clemits inches closer to the release of his instrumental album, A Cult Classic, the Austin-based MC/producer has unleashed a video for “Selfish Summer.” The track serves as the third offering from the upcoming project and follow-up to “Gangster Jazz.”

“The beat has a guitar and vocal sample with a hard bass line and crisp drums,” Clemits explains to HipHopDX. “It gives you the feeling of a summer night. I felt like it paints the picture in your mind, like a film. To me, that film is about a summer night and smoking the highest grade marijuana in a beautiful location like Zilker Park.

“With the name A Cult Classic conjuring imagery from films, we felt a pressure to create a film for the album worthy of being considered a cult classic.

Directed by Clemits and shot by Josiah Panella, the visual follows the 33-year-old around the Texas capital and pays homage to the city he loves.
