Los Angeles, CA

The one-and-only DJ Quik has kept his name bubbling these past few years working with Problem, in the midst of speaking his mind on social media.

And although it’s been a full five years since in last solo album in 2014’s The Midnight Life, the Compton rap pioneer is actively changing that with the release of “World Girl,” the first single from his forthcoming tenth studio album, due out later this summer via Quik’s Mad Science Recordings imprint.

The record employs a Quik-favored Middle Eastern tinge and features up-and-coming singer, Christian Ford.

While feature details surrounding the album are still emerging, Quik was recently spotted enjoying a studio session with Trippie Redd, who the legend proclaimed the youngster to be “doin’ it big.”

For the time being, DJ Quik’s “World Girl” can be streamed up above.
