Troi “STAR” Torain is no longer co-hosting Complex’s Everyday Struggle series. STAR explained his departure on his YouTube channel show The Star Chamber.

“I requested a release from my agreement a while ago. I requested a release. I didn’t quit. I’m not a quitter, but I requested a release and today (May 3), I finally got it,” he says with a smile. “So, let me say thank you to Complex. Thank you so much. I’m just busy, I got moves to make, I appreciate everybody that I work with over there. The wonderful, wonderful staff, the production, the PAs, everyone getting up bright and early in the morning. Thank you.”

The former Power 105 radio host wouldn’t go into detail about why he chose to leave Everyday Struggle, but he says there’s no malice and he’s “choosing his words carefully.” He also candidly admits he didn’t think he would get the release after a long back and forth between Complex Media and his lawyers.

Although the latest episode of Everyday Struggle was published on March 29, host Nadeska Alexis assured viewers the show will be back in an April tweet.

STAR was recruited for the series after Joe Budden made his exit late last year. Budden leaving the show signaled the possible end of Everyday Struggle’s existence for many viewers. The addition of STAR resulted in more drama for the series due to sexual comments made about Nadeska Alexis before he was asked to join the cast.
