JAY-Z is set to be David Letterman’s next guest on the talk show host’s Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. In a short preview of the episode, Hov gives major praise to Snoop Dogg and Eminem for being good rappers.

So, what makes a rapper good? According to JAY-Z, it’s the voice and cadence.

“You can have a great voice, and you can just almost say anything,” Jigga explains to Letterman. “I think Snoop Dogg has a great voice. Like he can say, ‘One-two-three into the four,’ I was like ‘Oh my God.’ It just sounds good, right?”

He then goes on to compliment Eminem for his cadence and syncopation.

“You almost become a percussion inside the music,” he says of Slim Shady’s skills. “So there’s multiple ways to be really good. Some people just have it all.”

Letterman’s Netflix show debuted in January with an episode featuring former President Barack Obama. Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai have been the other guests on the series, which has aired three episodes so far.
