Originally getting his start as a photographer, South Jersey native Ant Beale wants nothing but positive vibes to come out of his music. With the help of music producer Charlie Heat, who worked on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo, Beale released his debut EP No Rain No Flowers in 2017. His most recent releases include a remix of his song “Sunshine” featuring none other than the positivity-preaching BasedGod, Lil B.

Before Beale hits the stage at SXSW this year, HipHopDX got a chance to get to know the South Jersey rapper a little more.

What’s been the best and/or worst part of preparing for the performances? Why should people come and see you?

The worst part about preparing for the show is waiting to do the show. [Laughs] And people should come see because I’m a breath of fresh air and my minions are poppin!

What was your first show outside your hometown and what was the best memory of it?

What was your first paid gig?

Was at The Pharmacy in Philly. It was for a $150 like three years ago.
