Toronto, Canada

After The Shade Room posted two Instagram videos of what looked like Tory Lanez getting jumped during a performance at York University, the Canadian rapper popped up in the comment section to defend himself.

“I never got Jumped,” he wrote on Friday (September 29). “My fans would never group up and try to fight me. I crowd surf every night with no security .. if they were gunna jump me I’d be jumped at this point.”

Lanez was performing at the Toronto university earlier this week as he prepares to drop his sophomore album. The Chixtape 4artist took to Twitter to announce its completion in August.

“The album is done ! Finishing Clearance and Art and it’s yours,” he wrote.

He also alluded that the album was a deeply personal endeavor. On July 30, Lanez wrote, “There is a verse on my new album called ‘Hate To Say’ that’s 4:30 seconds of me laying everything on the table ….#Iconic.”
