A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has revealed several Hip Hop label heads, including Sean “Diddy” Combs and DJ Khaled, reached out in an attempt to sign him. In a new interview with MONTREALITY, the Bronx-born rapper admitted he was hoping JAY-Z and Roc Nation would come knocking prior to penning a deal with Atlantic Records.

“Diddy reached out,” A Boogie said. “Khaled reached out. A lot of people reached out as a matter of fact. I think the only person that hasn’t reached out to try to sign me when everybody was looking to sign me, was probably JAY-Z. [He] was the only person that I ain’t hear from. I didn’t feel no type of way but I felt like, ‘Damn,’ because I always dreamed about something like that. For me, that was just one of my goals, but after a while I had to wake up and realize, ‘Damn, I could become bigger than that.’ I could follow his footsteps and be as big as him. I could do it a whole different way and be as big as him.”

Later in the interview, A Boogie discussed the possibility of making a joint project with PnB Rock and Kodak Black.

“Right now, I think me and PnB Rock got that type of chemistry,” he said. “I think we could go back-and-forth at it and make a real dope album. I could make good music with a lot of people. I feel like me and Kodak [Black] would make a good tape or album together. Word.”

A Boogie is scheduled to release his debut studio album, The Bigger Artist, on Friday (September 29). The 15-track project features guest appearances from Kodak Black, Chris Brown, Trey Songz and PnB Rock, among others.
