A few months ago, Down 2 Earth dropped an album titled Fair Share that flew under the radar of many listeners. In an effort to wake up those still sleeping on them, the Bay Area trio has returned with some more quality music in the form of the Sunburnt EP.
Clyde Shankle, Dayvid Michael and HBK Gang member Azure got back in the studio and concocted five new tracks for fans to enjoy. Production is handled in-house by the group along with contributions by Wax Roof, Phil Park and Elujay. The EP is perfect for these summer days as D2E looks to capture the feeling of the season on wax.
“We wanted Sunburnt to represent the feeling of a hot day, like Stevie Wonder’s Hotter Than July record,” Clyde told HipHopDX. “We’ve been having a lot more fun with the musical process lately as well so we feel that now would be a good time to put out something like this. From this project, you can expect songs you can just put on and slap.”
